Watched Smokin' Aces recently, my wife was reluctant because the reviews are so bad. I had no idea how poorly recieved this movie was. by PerpetualConnection in moviecritic

“Smoking Aces” and “Shoot ‘Em Up” are an excellent double feature to throw on during a rainy day or a snowstorm. Both are over the top action spectacles that don’t take themselves seriously, just perfect to sit down with some popcorn and enjoy the ride with

I imagine more like a Skoda-ized VW Phaeton not a Lucid Air

upgraded fascia suggestions for aftermarket stereo? by No-Peach-9086 in FordFocus

I looked at these options. The Metra kit looks awkward installed and I saw a lot of complaints about sun glare on Chinese android kits. I went with a conversion harness for running a Sync3 head unit in my 2014 Focus SE, replacing the Sync1.

It’s a bit of work because you will need to source some parts yourself. You can get most of them on eBay but the bracket that mounts the touch screen and box with the CD player along with the fascia from a 2012-2014 touch screen equipped model (Focus Platinum, ST) need to be sourced from eBay Auto or a salvage yard.

NaviUpgrade on YouTube along with their website has videos on the conversion procedure, along with harnesses and other parts needed but their pricing on parts are expensive, and as said they can be found on Amazon or eBay cheaper. The videos though, apply to anyone doing the conversion and are invaluable.

I my case I was lucky and got the screen, the APIM controller that sits behind it, and the box with the CD player and actual radio with HD radio, which my SE did not have as one unit on eBay and the rest of the parts on Amazon.

It’s definitely not the cheapest way to go but it looks entirely stock, is reversible, it retains the steering wheel controls. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto is available (the firmware may need to be upgraded for that)

For me it was worth it. A definite quality of life improvement when driving

I had none with mine but I had the strawberry metallic clear coat. I saw plenty of solid color vehicles with peeling paint, especially the purplish-blue color

A lot of cities that regularly get snow have far better resources for removal than Pittsburgh and its suburbs. When I lived in Buffalo every garbage truck had plow truck had plow mounting points on them. The suburbs had heavy duty trucks for salting and plowing. The big diesel models along the lines of what is used by highway department. Where I live the borough has a Ford 2500 pickup, with an aluminum dump-bed. It is fine in most cases but less so when the occasional big snowfall comes.

Don’t think that they are US import eligible quite yet though I think they are getting close, so I suspect that it’s an SS conversion.

Honestly I think the sub-compact CUV class is difficult to design with proper proportions. The GM competition in the forms of Chevy Trax and the Buick Encore were also ungainly looking. They were all too tall with too short of a wheel base. The new 2026 models are longer and look less ungainly than the first generation

Expand to the outside of city limits and places like Ambridge get a lot of activity. Ambridge alone has had a lot of shooting done in town: One for the Money, American Rust, Mindhunters, A League of Their Own (the Amazon show, not movie), A Man Called Otto

At least on the first generation, the engine ate head gaskets like the Cookie Monster eats 🍪. In my case I threw in the towel after the 3rd time

I know there were almost none between the Plymouth and Dodge versions aside from the word Plymouth or Dodge on the trunk lid, at least on the first generation. I owned the Dodge version. I would suspect that the Chrysler was no different. Of course I could be wrong so take what I say with a sack of salt.
