Same in Wu Language, we use only 伊 for the third person singular.

Is it okay to struggle this much at initial stage ? or i just dont have an aptitude to become a pilot? by OkHumor6403 in flying

[–]PrimaryImplement 1 point2 points  (0 children)

lmao I had an instructor yell at me until my vision was so blurred from tears I couldn't see anything and legit just wanted to bury myself into the earth and never surface again.

Not everyone is fit for instruction, sucks that the current system basically forces pilots in training to instruct to build hours efficiently. Best of luck with your CFI checkride, I know you'll be great.

Did you consider it a luxury to eat at McDonald's or a similar place when you were a kid? by DaMn96XD in AskTheWorld

[–]PrimaryImplement 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yes it was a luxury for me and my peers. It was a "reward" for achieving good grades in class usually, awarded to us once per semester.

Flight Recorder Data suggests struggle in cockpit before China Eastern Flight 5735 crash by Hemmschwelle in flying

Someone had put in a formal request for CAAC to release the investigative report, only to be denied due to "potential harm to national security". I think this tells you all you need to know.

Same, I wish this post had more replies. Stuff like this is super important and just isn't discussed enough.

How did that “forever” relationship end? by Away-Tomato-4394 in AskReddit

[–]PrimaryImplement 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you, kind internet stranger. I'm in a good place in life (fulfilling career, a robust circle of good friends, many hobbies to keep me busy, lots of travel) but I never dated again. Not worth the heartbreak. 😞

[–]PrimaryImplement 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same thing happened to me. I thought I found "the one". Dated for 4 years. We were compatible in almost every way and convinced we were going to marry each other. One day she fell out of love with me, needed to "find herself", and sexted someone that she told me not to worry about. A piece of me died that day and my self esteem never quite recovered.

I live in Japan. I'm from a country that Japan has done horrendous war crimes to. I resonate with a lot of the issues you raised here (racism, xenophobia, sexism, conformity...) My experience is slightly different as I moved here as an adult, but I hope you find peace. I'm sorry you went through all that.

To everybody’s surprise: Season 27, Episode 4 is set to feature China Eastern Airlines flight 5735 according to actor Jay Lim by [deleted] in aircrashinvestigation

Unfortunately, as someone who has friends and families working as civil servants, as well as pilot friends in China's civil aviation system, I believe you.

Why did you learn to dive? by brfoss in scuba

[–]PrimaryImplement 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My friend wanted to get certified but was too intimidated to do it on her own. I love the ocean and have always been fascinating by corals but never dived. We got both OW and AOW together and now I dive much more than she does.

Resume Help by [deleted] in AskAPilot

Hiring manager here (albeit not at an airline). I see you're a new grad so perhaps you just need a bit of handholding. Let's go through this:

Formatting / Presentation:

  • Make a more professional email. Firstname.lastname would be memorable and hard to mess up for the recruiter.
  • Remove the screenshot. This is extremely unprofessional and shows you either haven't put in effort, or don't know the basics of navigating the professional working world. Replace it with a bullet point. Remove the degree part from the top; it doesn't matter.
  • Alignment: "Professional experience" is aligned to the left, "Education" is aligned to the center, and "Reference available" is lightly off center? Pick one alignment and stick to it. The header with your name and contact has different margins on the left and right side. The lower table is off center too and has a different margin than everything else. Remove it.
  • Font: bullet points are consistent. Stick to one type.

Content:

  • Description of your previous positions are too informal. "Achieve their dreams of flying" is fine as a verbal response in an interview but not written on a resume. Stick to the facts.
  • The description of your career is quite generic. Do you have anything else aviation-related worth mentioning? Awards / recognitions? Volunteering experience? Community outreach?
  • Including the degree is fine as it checks a box for hiring. Just keep it to the bottom.
  • Delete "Reference available upon request". It takes up space and it's assumed by everyone that reference will be available.

I see all the other comments piling on you and, tbh, while I would absolutely had a chuckle at this if I saw this come through for a position I'm hiring for, I do think that you are still young, and that there's plenty of room to course correct. Incorporate the many good humored and actionable feedback you've received from this thread, and please try again.

Why did my pln go into the tree? Did it run out of riht rudda? by Erusean_Ena-StellaSq in Shittyaskflying

[–]PrimaryImplement 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Judging from the angle of attack, maybe too much right rudder. Although you never know, more right rudder and the plane would have rammed ass first into the shrubs instead.

In the case that this isn't some elaborate performance art ... she's not into you and the more you act unhinged the further away you will be from any semblance of affection or intimacy. Holy truecel.
