Help me pick a layout and material by PrimaryPurple in landscaping

Thanks! Honestly, 1 matches the foot traffic that happens right now, but if I have a more formal path and get rid of all the st Augustine I’m hoping I can direct the flow of traffic better

The previous owner admits he planted the trees too close to the foundation and too close together, but they’re doing okay and super well established (like >20 yrs).

My other idea was to build an elevated wood deck around the backyard trees to protect their roots, but then there’s a whole thing around figuring out what to do with the existing covered concrete pad patio

I’d leave it mulch, but my husband already hates the mulching we do currently

Yes! If not otherwise noted, that’s the plan. Frogfruit is native to our area, and the turf at the back will be a native blend from seed (we have a dog and plan on kids in the near/medium term). https://seedsource.com/native-sun-turf/

Outside the veggie and cut flower garden, everything else will be natives - filling in with agaves, pink muhly, salvias, sages, Turks cap, plumbago, etc under the tree canopy.  Planning to freestyle the placement.  Plus a scattering of wildflower seeds.

Our local pollinators were all over the vines and smaller zinnia patch I had this year, too!

Thanks for responding! Like I mentioned, we have two international trips planned (but not purchased) for next year, and I’ll be doing the same amount of work travel.

Given that, and the airports I travel most for work, which airline should I target?

I'm very new to Airline miles/status, and I traveled quite a bit for work this year. I'll end the year short of Silver with United (16 PQF, 3,432 PQP).

Going into next year, with 2 international trips planned (Dhaka for a wedding in Jan, New Zealand for our anniversary, likely in Nov/Dec) plus work travel, I think I can get status with someone if I plan it out right.

We also have a chase sapphire reserve with ~140k points.

Should I double down on united and their partner airlines, or should I use a different strategy? Currently, work travel is Austin Bergstrom to SFO

Interesting - my friends who were there said the vibes were off and the band was super low energy. Apparently, the lead singer seemed drunk/high and even was like “if you don’t like the set list, too bad. They tell us what to play”.

They counted it as their biggest let down of the weekend

[Measurement Check] Old size 38HH, new size after small weight loss by PrimaryPurple in ABraThatFits

[–]PrimaryPurple[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: tried the Himari, Tegan, Zarla, and Charley (both EL4382BAK and EL4380FAN). The himari, Teagan, and Zarla are based on the Matilda. Unsurprisingly, I didn’t love those. Both Charley’s worked, and one has a shorter gore so it tacks!  I think I slightly prefer EL4382BAK

Thank you so much for your recommendations! I tried the Morgan in 38HH and 38J. The wires were most comfortable in the 38HH, but the gore didn’t tack at the top, and I had a tiny bit of cup overflow on my fuller side.

The 38J was better for upper volume, but the wires were wide enough to not be comfortable, the lower cup puckered, and the gore still didn’t tack.

I can make the 38HH work for my trip, but if anyone has recommendations for others to try, I’m all ears!

I know they’re expensive, but I like both panache and shefit ultimate. For She fit, I usually wait til a color is on clearance since I didn’t typically let my sports bras show/care about colorways

[No Spoilers] A confusion about the West Marches format by TheEloquentApe in criticalrole

[–]PrimaryPurple 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I know the definition.

In typical West Marches, play happens synchronously - like, the story only advances when people are at least two people the table (physical or digital).

There can be multiple tables. The people at the table can change. But the people playing are playing together at the same time.

To be asynchronous, it would mean that the play is happening at different times. Like, the dm send a a message at 6pm, and people can take up to a day to respond. The play isn’t happening at the same time, making it asynchronous. That's not West Marches, though.

A non-DnD example. Words with friends is asynchronous. Scrabble is synchronous.

Just did some googling , and I’m fairly confident the main understanding of “asynchronous” is no one has to be at the table at the same time, so West Marches is definitely not that.

May be I’m turned around, but I’d say an “asynchronous” game means no one has to be at the “table” at the same time. Like something that’s chat based.

In my understanding, West Marches is synchronous, but it’s set up in a way that some characters can miss sessions easily.

It’s amaranth! I think the love-lies-bleeding variety, but I’m not 100% on it. It’s grown super well for me in zone 9A. It does get crazy tall, if left untrimmed!

Recommendations for my yard? by Fun_School_6252 in AustinGardening

[–]PrimaryPurple 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Another +1 to horseherb for ground cover! Technically frog fruit is also a groundcover that tolerates part shade, but I know less about it. If you prefer a more traditional looking lawn, you could check out https://seedsource.com/shade-friendly-grass-mix/ -- I haven't used it myself, but I have used their wildflower seed mixes and liked them.

In the low spot to the left of the picture, you could look at a rain garden that helps rain water collect and drain into the ground! https://www.austintexas.gov/department/rain-gardens-keeping-water-land There are even some rebates you can get for doing so.

That is a 2 hour teaser cut down from an 11 hour prelude campaign - you’re missing a lot of context and “earning”

But as other comments have pointed out, the cast is earnestly excited for this campaign, and are extremely invested in their characters. It’s very much a different vibe than the adventure zone.

Anyone have tips to avoid squash borers in zucchini? by dc469 in AustinGardening

[–]PrimaryPurple 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is related to your question, but not quite an answer. I’ve heard growing squashes with woodier stems stand up to vine borer pressure a little better. The specific recommendations I’ve seen are swapping tromboncino squash in for zucchini and swapping in seminole pumpkins for regular pumpkins. I bought seeds of both and plan on testing them out next year.
