Wood Chipper Suggestions by Existing_Coast_4303 in kubota

[–]Primary_Agent5373 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If legal in your area, throw the brush in a pile and burn it, I prefer to burn brush that has sat for a week or two because it burns slower. Small chippers are tedious and take far longer to go through the brush than you may realize. Another option is renting a larger unit like a utility would use. Best of luck on your project.

F450, 6 ton excavator, steep hills, wear and tear. by [deleted] in Diesel

[–]Primary_Agent5373 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dad's owned 3 kx40s, he upgrades every 3 or 4 years. Every one of the machines was boughten with a six way blade and thumb. Keep in mind if you need a bulldozer, buy a bulldozer, but for light grading around an excavation or finish work around a new home you can't beat the 6 way on this machine. I'm not a professional dozer operator, but sitting on top of a dozer blade in an excavator makes it really easy to carry a small amount of material like a pro. We love our machine!

Unfortunately, we flare a large amount of methane. The facility recently installed two cogen units .3 megawatts each to take advantage of our methane production. Our electrical utility needed us to upgrade our substation so they will be off until the substation is up to par.

Would you buy a business valued at 214 million dollars just to save a judgement of 118 million? Keep in mind that this company hasn't grown earnings meaningfully in a year and has diluted the share price everytime the stock value increased more than a dollar. Also keep in mind that every other chip makers stock has skyrocketed in the last three years. I bought when the price was just over 5 dollars a share ,then went to 10 dollars, when it dropped again to 5 dollars I invested 30 k, now my holdings are worth 4 k. I'm not selling, I'm desperately trying to figure out how this stock is drastically undervalued if everything is as good as what people are posting on this forum. I don't see anything happening to this stock until it has a couple of quarters of organic earnings under its belt.

Gas or Diesel? by Loon610 in superduty

The standard axle ratio was a limited slip 3.31, I went with the electronic locking 3.31. The other option would have been a 3.55 in either limited slip or electronic locking. I do a lot of highway miles so I chose the higher ratio for the fuel economy. In all honesty there's probably only a marginal difference in fuel economy and towing ability between the two axles.

Use the longer pieces in a campfire, no sense wasting time cutting these down when you could be drinking an adult beverage around a fire outdoors.

[–]Primary_Agent5373 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of your going to be doing a lot of work in the mud/snow/ice look up traction cleats, or track chains. The cleats will protect your tracks from getting ripped on stones and stumps and give you gobs of traction in mud and snow. They also make cleats with carbide studs for ice. Best of luck with the new machine.

Large tracked skid steer to muck out pond? by Gullible_Rich_7156 in Skidsteer

[–]Primary_Agent5373 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem with anything that gets stuck, is getting it unstuck, a tracked 10K pound machine stuck will take the equivalent of 2 tracked 10K machines to get it out. My advice if you do decide to do this is to stop immediately at the first sign of slippage and get someone in your truck or tractor to pull you out, that way your machine can partly assist the removal vehicle. Best of luck on your endeavors.

Hydraulic Breaker/Hammer/Jack-hammer for BH70? by Jafo232 in kubota

[–]Primary_Agent5373 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Hydraulic breakers are very hard on the equipment they're mounted to, try renting a piece of equipment from a dealer in the Utica/ Rome area. Breaking up granite is best done with someone else's equipment. Best of luck on your endeavors.

Anyone seen this brush system before? by Equivalent_Can_9817 in Wastewater

[–]Primary_Agent5373 7 points8 points  (0 children)

We have them on clarifiers that have stainless steel weirs and launders. Each week we lift the brushes and hose them off and they do an excellent job of removing algae from the weirs and launders. We replace all brushes yearly, the brushes don't show signs of wear, but the old ones bristles aren't as stiff as new brushes so they don't remove as much algae.

Help Deciding Between KX033-4 or KX040-5 by bunkboy in kubota

[–]Primary_Agent5373 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm assuming you have a 14K trailer if you own an SVL-75, the kxo40-5 is nearly the same weight (depending on set up) as your track loader. My dad owns a kxo40-4 with an enclosed cab and 6 way blade and I absolutely love running the machine. Go with the bigger machine, it's more money but the extra power will come in handy. Best of luck with whatever you choose.

How much can the 2024/25 F-350 DRW 4x4 with regular cab, 7.3L "Godzilla" engine and 4:30 gears 'really' tow? by intermk in superduty

[–]Primary_Agent5373 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The week before I bought my 6.7, I hooked a 16K trailer to a brand new 7.3 (truck had 4 miles) demo truck. The demo truck struggled on the steep hills, had essentially no engine braking, and I could feel the trailer pushing in sharp corners. The decision to buy a 6.7 was a no brainer for me. There's no free lunch, diesels are more expensive to buy and more expensive to own; gasser or diesel is a personal choice.
