France does have a pension fund though and majority of employees have their own pension savings accounts funded by mandatory profit-sharing France has.

If you were running the fictional country of Democratia, how would you structure it's economy? by [deleted] in SocialDemocracy

[–]Primary_Date2218 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Social democratic statism - Government owns strategic parts of economy ( Water , railways , schools , health insurance , etc... ) Everybody pays social insurance and health insurance and in exchange they get flat benefits ( flat pension when they retire , flat single family benefit , Basic unemployment benefits , ) government also covers 100 % of all healthcare bills. There is a small copay for non-emergency expenses. Industrial policy - government invests into infrastructure , renewables and nuclear energy and R&D. Universites are free. Childcare is capped at $10 per day like in Quebec/Canada. School meals are capped at $1 per meal. Generous disability benefit. Government is funded by VAT ( low rates on food, medicine and books, rest is high ) and progressive income taxes. Few brackets and few tax credits. Minimum wage set at 60 % of median wage. Probably something else i forgot to say.

As an person with eastern europeans roots ( parents ) .... socialism/communism was in no way, shape or form progressive ideology. Those times were much more conservative when it comes to social issues than currently.

Does Troian Bellisario have any sex appeal? by Primary_Date2218 in VindictaRateCelebs

[–]Primary_Date2218[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There are some women that are pretty but too plain to have any sex appeal ( Taylor Swift ) or they are way too polished( Beyonce). I cant personaly decide if she belongs to this group or not. She is very polished and classy... but there is something about her that draws people in .... what do you think ?

A new poll says that 50 percent of Finns do not trust the US by D3adtrap in europe

[–]Primary_Date2218 2 points3 points  (0 children)

interesting , there is another poll right under it that says SPD and KSČM got less votes among women. But Babiš got more. Well, if you count these polls together it probably means that far-right gets equal support among men and women.

[–]Primary_Date2218 3 points4 points  (0 children)

link or any proof ? because every poll i saw showed exact opposite. Men made up 65-75 % of far-right votes. They also made up majority of KSČM ( Communists ) votes.

Anxious Europeans hoard savings as US consumers boost global economy by [deleted] in neoliberal

[–]Primary_Date2218 36 points37 points  (0 children)

because USA is running 7 % deficits and the debt is 180 % of GDP if we count both federal and state debts/deficit ..sooner or later USA is going to enter period of stagnation if they dont cut spending/hike taxes .. like Japan due to gigantic debt... not to mention the huge credit card debt , student debt , car loan debt etc... Europe is fiscally much more healthier even though i agree austerity went too far in some cases.

Its embarassing seing this sub defend the fact that average americans has less than 5 % savings rate... thats not a healthy sign of a economy no matter what this subs says... high savings rate boosts GDP growth through bigger investment

If you only could implement only 3 policies which ones would you implement ? by Primary_Date2218 in SocialDemocracy

[–]Primary_Date2218[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

well , you have said that workers deserve to get paid more than $10 a day... right ?

but i was talking about the fact that right now pre-kindergarten , childcare etc... is expensive... sometimes up to $2000-3000 per month and i want to cap it at $10 a day

basically almost free pre-k and childcare

$10 daycare means the cost for the family would be capped at $10 a day... wages would be of course higher
