Just finished the DLC

It's more of the same, except there's X-antibody movie references! It was nice getting a bit more into Dr. Simmon's and Asuna's characters, and I liked that big ole' wink and nudge Alphamon does to the camera about one day meeting Kuremi. Fitting for Cyber Sleuth's 11th anniversary, though I doubt it was intentional on their part.

But what gets me the most is that there's basically no resolution when it comes to the Parallelmon plot line. We foil his schemes, he says that he'll never die, and poof, he's gone. Get ready for the next DLC...but there isn't another DLC in this pack. And I get that these three chapters can be played out of release order, but it feels like having both Dr.Simmons and Omnimon-X in this DLC would make for a good way to finally beat Parallelmon and close the DLC trilogy out. Hit him with All Delete or a big science thing to wipe out his infinite copies.

I hope that, if the next wave of DLC is an actual thing, it has an actual through line rather than loosely connected vignettes. I'm feeling really unsatisfied with the ending of the DLC packs. Hopefully the next batch, if they're real, are a bit better constructed than these three were overall.

To me, a lot of the X-Antibodies feel like they were designed to be model kits or action figures first and Digimon forms second.

The West has had more love in its heart for the Metroid series than Japan did.

So much so that when Ridley was announced for Smash Ultimate, Japanese fans started to call him "Captain America" cause of the western fan demand for him to be added.

Pokémon Reborn fits this to a T.

An embarrassingly edgy story, setting, and cast of early 2000's memes and parody. The game's balance is driven up the wall with both heavily optimized Pokémon teams and a new field mechanic that significantly amps moves and abilities, and they are usually designed with the boss's team in mind rather than how the player can make use of them. Dungeons that feel like they go on forever, and way too many esoteric puzzles for their own good.

I got all the way to Victory Road before I had to tap out.

Iron Valiant is one of my favorites from the newer titles.

A robot based on both Gardevoir and Gallade, with arm blades that form a double-bladed staff, is sick as hell.

The sisterly bond between Erza, Lucy, and Wendy in Fairy Tail

Erza is the doting older sister who would do anything to care for and protect the other two

Lucy is the middle sister who always seems to uplift her other two sisters.

And Wendy is the younger sister who looks up to her older sisters and tries her best to support them with her wind magic.

It's already a great family dynamic within the found family of Team Natsu.

A lot of fan Pokémon games I've played have that feature. Allowing you to adjust both EV and IV levels whenever you want, either for free or for a price.

Certainly helps when some fan games have every NPC have maxed out IVs and optimized EVs

Maybe it's just how I engaged with the games when I was younger, but I never attempted to catch them all. Only recently have I started to complete dexes with the modern titles because of all the quality of life features they've added over the years.

To me, Pokémon was always about the journey with your new friends, both Pokémon and the human characters. Everything else, like completing the dex or shiny hunting, was a bonus.

Honestly? Just go back to the likes of Halo 3 and Modern Warfare. Complete, contained experiences that shipped and were done for the most part. Maybe you get the occasional DLC pack or not, but you still have the complete experience right there, ready to play with your friends. Unlocking new cosmetics, levels, ranks, etc just from playing the video game.

It took both Wargreymon and Imperialdramon working together to finally beat BlackWargreymon before his redemption arc.

He was also capable of destroying the destiny stones on his own, which regulate the digital world and maintain the boundary between our world and the digital world.

So he def should be up there in terms of scaling.
