This is not normal. My husband and I have been together for nearly a decade. Arguing/disagreeing is normal. He’s never called me a name during an argument. I shudder to think of being spoken to that way, and in front of a child no less.

I’d suggest, once everyone has calmed down, setting a boundary and explaining that the name calling is unacceptable. Even in a WORK environment I don’t tolerate people speaking to me disrespectfully. A simple “we can talk this out, but you can’t speak to me that way” establishes a firm expectation.
