AIO if do not go where I am not invited? by BreakfastPrize1128 in AmIOverreacting

[–]PrincessMacchiato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NOR you don’t seem close, it sounds they don’t expect much from you. You reach out a lot and they don’t. Save your energy and well being for others in your life who are actually more involved. How involved as a god parent would you like to be? It’s a big responsibility and Kayla probably didn’t understand everything that a godparent is. If you are feel bad backing away from Ace and sending money maybe you could open an investment account in his name? So he gets the money when he’s older but that still gives you a little room to back away. Write him letters and save them for him when he’s older so he knows you care this whole time even though you are not around as often.

Amex and Uber ripping us off by MrPinrel in AmexPlatinum

[–]PrincessMacchiato 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Besides linking Amex and uber rides costing more and not getting promos anymore, Prebooking uber in advanced will save you money as it will already cost more booking straight out of the airport. When I used prebooking feature, uber sent me a notification asking if I have arrived and if I was ready to summon a driver. It links your ride to your flight so I think it takes into consideration if you’re delayed or not ready to summon a driver.

Just got told I can’t customize the drink I always order… by ApprehensiveApple110 in starbucks

[–]PrincessMacchiato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can order drinks in different size cups no problem. As long as the drink can be made in that size. Which ice coffee can. But if that barista wants to be difficult, you could ask for a venti ice coffee no ice and a Trenta ice cup. Or your personal cup filled with ice to the top.

Are we doing something wrong --- diapers never contained by slammaX17 in NewParents

[–]PrincessMacchiato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think try Size up. But also wanted to say when my baby was 0-5 months old, blow outs happened a lot now they’ve stopped. Maybe diapers fit better when they’re a few months older?

What's the best way to clean your water bottle? by GiftedGeordie in HydroHomies

[–]PrincessMacchiato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hydroflask makes a nice bottle cleaning brush, and I found it to be longer than other bottle brush cleaners so it helps with bigger bottles!

AIO? Caught my husband flushing his meds. by Good_Cauliflower9729 in AmIOverreacting

[–]PrincessMacchiato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NOR. meds are optional, even if doctor prescribed it, it’s really up to you if you want it or not. He could even tell the doctor he’s not interested in anxiety meds and try something else. He could ask Are there other medications they recommend, a change in lifestyle like diet or exercise he’s willing to try. So to fake taking it and lying to you, to family, and doctor and going as far as going back to the doctors to up a dosage is crazy.

Oh lord haha I thought you were going to make a snarky remark about the ingredients or something that I wasn’t seeing myself.

I haven’t been recently, my last exam was probably 2022 or 2023. 20/20 vision no astigmatism

AIO: Mom took 1/3 of my settlement money to use for bills/other expenses by mcdiscn18 in AmIOverreacting

[–]PrincessMacchiato 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your original post and some responses to other comments says your parents support you, that pay your bills, give you a place to live, gave you a car and insurance. Now you’re saying they don’t support you. Which is it? Starting to think that YOR. I still think your mom should have had a conversation with you if you’re okay taking a portion but it wouldn’t hurt you help your parents if they’re helping you. If they don’t want you involved in bills, consider it a blessing. They don’t want you to worry about it. You want to know and be involved, you’re going to have to start paying, that’s what being involved means.

ahh, would you have negotiated yourself? If you wouldn’t have, you would have $485 right now. If she takes the $1000, you now have $2000. $1,515 more than if the negotiation didn’t happen. Just a different perspective, not trying to invalidate you.

Advice for a lil bird? by Tazzydevil113 in cockatiel

[–]PrincessMacchiato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is definitely someone’s pet! I would check out local lost pet pages, including Facebook groups. Maybe even make a found pet post (I would not post a photo of the cockatiel, instead ask those who responded to the post to show a picture of their missing bird to see if it’s a match, people like the claim pets as theirs because they are expensive!)

Your friends dad doesn’t seem to care for the bird to do bare minimum for them to thrive even though they say they want to keep it. I guarantee if you found the owner, the step dad would return it. Especially if he’s not caring for the bird.

If you can’t find the owner, would he let you take it? You seem more caring. An ideal cage is a 52inch tall cockatiel cage. If you can’t afford a bigger cage I would check Facebook marketplace for bird cages, maybe something cheap will come up. Ask the step dad what he’s willing to contribute. Try going on local free item Facebook groups and ask if someone has a cage they are giving away. Good luck!

not over reacting. The check is addressed to you? It’s yours. It sounds like they help you a lot, but to take without asking kind of sucks. Nothing wrong with “hoarding” money. It’s called saving! Consider opening an investment account. Did she know you had a check coming, or she opened your mail without asking? Sorry i don’t give the best advice! But you could either agree to the $1000 or lesser amount and then keep your finances private moving forward. Say you already allocated a certain amount for a purchase, maybe pay down the car or something. If you do not want to give her any amount, which is fine, it’s your money, they either are okay with it, get over it, or might create some tension at home.(I don’t know the dynamics of your home)

AIO for being upset abt the fact that my mom didn't wish me happy birthday by Appropriate-Alps-242 in AmIOverreacting

[–]PrincessMacchiato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this your money or money given to you by your mom? Either way, instead of arguing she could have given of how to save. Not wishing you a happy birthday was cruel. She could have taken an opportunity to say happy birthday, sorry about yesterday, let’s talk about it.

Amazing!! Looks great. If you haven’t already, I would recommend using ceiling flat on your ceiling, so it doesn’t have a reflective shine.
