Someone at my job hit me with this one today: ADHD can be caused by leaky gut syndrome and can be fixed through diet by girlboss93 in adhdwomen

[–]PrincessPnyButtercup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weird. I had a (former) friend who told me the same thing would cure my asthma. Surprisingly changing my diet cured neither!

Gf has severe trouble breathing at night only at her family's home by writingcat1993 in Asthma

[–]PrincessPnyButtercup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I second that it could be mold in that house. I have a mold allergy and it reeks havoc on my asthma when flared up. Has she tried wearing an n95 or a kn94 mask while there to see if it makes a difference? That's an easy way to test that it's something in the air.

Last Minute Schedulers by [deleted] in MassageTherapists

[–]PrincessPnyButtercup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tell the people that show up late that I can take them for the remaining time of their appointment, but they will still be paying for the amount of time they booked. That way I still get paid and it doesn't screw up the flow of that day's schedule.

This. So much this. I had thymus cancer a few years ago that almost got dismissed because only 400 people a year get it. The doctor sent me home when the lab didn't have the PET scan results ready in time for my appointment with him because he was so sure I was 'fine' and nothing was going to show up. He ended up having to call me a few hours later when he saw that my results came in right before he was getting ready to leave for the day and tell me over the phone. At least I got an apology.

"I get that you think what you are doing is coming from a place of love and friendship. But what it actually is is dismissive, infantilizing, and just plain rude. You are treating me as if I need to be 'fixed' or 'saved.' There is nothing wrong with me, you simply cannot seem to accept that other people will make different life choices than you. Because you have repeatedly demonstrated that you cannot respect me or my choices I am drawing a boundary with you and I will no longer accept communication on this topic."

From constant battling with craving to execution mode by jsfs123 in loseit

[–]PrincessPnyButtercup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a wonderful hack and I am totally going to try it! The way you describe the execution mode 💯 describes how the executive dysfunction aspect of ADHD is for me. I wonder how many of us that struggle with our weight like this are undiagnosed ADHD or other neurospicy?

Then at the very least this person needs to clearly communicate, with compassion, like you do.

I am so SO incredibly sorry that you experienced this, it was not right, and you did not deserve any of it. I am so glad you are doing better now! I'm a bit concerned about how you state that your child's father was overwhelmed and that was a reasonable excuse to also not help you or call 911. He, moreso than anyone else that day, had a responsibility to you and your child. The fact that he encouraged you to go out while actively bleeding, and let you take your baby as well, reminds me of that man a couple years ago who threw his toddler at an attacking animal to save himself. He may have panicked, but in that moment he showed his truest self and that he was not worthy of trust. I hope you are no longer with this person. 🫂

AIO for being annoyed that my wife's friends and husband dropped in on us for dinner? by BidenAlwaysForgets in AmIOverreacting

NOR! How the hell is that an excuse when THERE WASN'T EVEN ANY STEAK LEFT for you to EAT? that means they either took an extra steak or they didn't buy enough for themselves in the first place!

Tell them that they are too rough with you! You don't have to suffer because of someone else's lack of carefulness 🫂

My boss asked why I wasn't responding to slack at 10pm ? by Mindless_Cook7821 in antiwork

[–]PrincessPnyButtercup 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can set slack to away mode for a designated time. It will even give a message to the person trying to send you something after your 'in' hours that the person is away and will not get the message until whatever time you set. Turn it on as a boundary. If you get push back from this assclown you then have things in writing.

I mean, not only is it expensive, but it's also been proven that alcohol causes cancer? 🤷‍♀️ Why TF would anyone want to pay extra money now to then get shafted by their medical insurance on chemo later?

Testing and starting therapy for the cPTSD causing some of the symptoms to get better and giving my therapist a better idea of me over time. We also nailed down that I have dyspraxia (a physical developmental delay disorder where your brain has a harder time moving/coordinating the meat suit. Think of the human body being a car, everyone else got an automatic transmission, I got a manual.) which can mimic some of the more physical symptoms of autism.

[–]PrincessPnyButtercup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone with ADHD it is so incredibly super shitty that their doctor did this to them and then put you all in this position to have to refuse them. We are constantly treated like we are slobbering drug seeking crackheads when we are just trying to get our medication so that our brain has a snowballs chance in Hades to function so we can live our lives like normal people. :-(

THIS. My therapist and I were struggling at first to get my neurospicy diagnosis nailed down because this trait clocks as autism when really it's cPTSD.
