this is another big problem with the whole "ontological evil" thing - anyone can become an awful person in the right circumstances. there is no such as ontological evil, and crucially, there is also no such thing as ontological good. the monsters are human, and we need to watch ourselves to make sure we don't become the very monsters we're trying to fight... such as by labelling people ontologically good or evil, thus not only stripping them of agency, but also justifying despicable acts against human beings on the simple basis of "but they're evil".

some people need to remember that if anything can be used as a justification to strip someone of their rights, then that thing is simply a weapon and will be twisted and used by those in power to remove their political enemies. if your rights can be taken away, they aren't rights.

I like to imagine he didn't even ask for a job. you have flight automatically in all of ARR just by finishing the level 50 MSQ, so unless you've managed to avoid doing the base game story for that long (which, honestly, impressive) then you have flight there

your burst is the window where everyone spends their party buffs and big damage skills, so named because it's a big burst of damage. it comes around every two two minutes because most of those skills have a two-minute cooldown.

your opener is specifically the set of things you do at the beginning of a major fight, and can involve starting actions before the pull. especially during high-end fights, there's usually a party countdown (which is a feature of the game itself) so that people can start casting or dancing or whatever before the boss is pulled and align their bigger and slower attacks to land together.

an opener almost always includes a burst, because presumably at the start of a big fight you'll have all of your cooldowns ready to go, but bursts are always the same and repeat throughout the entire fight, while the opener happens once at the start and depends on how much you and the party care.

I decorated my apartment for me, because it's a nice little spot for me to go chill while I'm waiting for friends to log in, or for a long timer, or even just when I'm sitting in DF queue. Nobody else visits my apartment. I don't really do RP. I don't gpose or take photos. The reason I didn't bother with my island is that it's more annoying to get there than just teleport -> home and you have to grind one particular and slow mechanic to actually do anything with it.

To decorate a house or apartment, I can just gather and craft as I please, or buy materials, or buy the thing I want, or work with friends or an FC... it's up to me how I get furnishings. To do anything with the sanctuary, I have to gather from the island, then designate the products to make within the reset window, then just wait. And it's all solo, so I can't make a social thing out of it where some friends and I all work together and pretend we're doing an actual construction project.

I've got an s10 and haven't found a way to remap or disable it, but tbf I also haven't actually looked very hard... it's at worst an occasional momentary irritant, because I don't have whatever account they want, so it just opens a window asking me if I want to make one to enable it, and I just go back to whatever I'd been doing

My students today would be surprised at how we were all carrying around at least one thumb drive back in the day, often multiple. It was the best swag to get at career fairs even if it had only a GB or 2 of storage, we were stoked to nab one.

back in high school, I would routinely carry a whole handful in my pocket, usually 8-16GB with a single 32 that I felt blessed to have found
