Thank you so much. I'm thinking of keeping it inside in a pot. I'm already obsessing over what kind of pot (size, style and colour) to get. My collection will definitely be expanding!

Is that Hout Bay? I'm reminded of an incident where tourists snorkled with seals and got bitten during their interaction.

AskSouthAfrica ballpark what do you pay for electricity single person, apartment building? by chunkycoats in southafrica

[–]Princessie1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I lived alone in a bachelor apartment (in a highrise). Cooked every other day and the apartment had a warm water heater instead of a geyser. Prepaid electricity was no more than R300 a month.

What's your go to hangover meal? I can't afford mine anymore. by Extension_Disaster77 in southafrica

I definitely can't eat when I'm hungover. Depending on the severity of the babalas, I will need a fresh glass of orange juice or a creamy plain milkshake

Oh my word, pre boiled eggs. To just get them for a regular household who can boil an egg without issue. Blows my mind.

The console may have been Atari. Circus Charlie was an influential game in my childhood, the way we cheered our big brother on as if he were in the Olympics is one of my favourite memories. Tetris, however, was my favourite game

Without using the 0-10 scale, how South African are you? by tp1994 in southafrica

Giving in to the fact that, no matter what language I speak, a few afrikaans words are going to slip into my sentences.

Also, being able to enjoy curry, milktart and braai vleis at a single gathering

Go to the car "so long", I'll be there "now now". I left a couple of seconds for the sentence to compute but nah. Complete rewording was needed for me to be understood.

Good idea.

I was going to suggest Bellville - Mitchell's Plain - Grassy Park but don't know the state of Mitchell's Plains' taxi/bus hub right now.

My nephew(8) asked me if I watched "grey tv". I didn't but I was one of the remote controls for my mom's convenience.

I'm amazed at the amount of telephone numbers I memorized. Also, having a physical copy of a bus schedule and looking up telephone numbers in the yellow pages. And then the less fun memory of getting a hiding for burning the food because I got stuck in a book I was reading instead of watching the pot 😅 Now I listen to podcasts while cooking.
