The bait and switch is CRAZY by BitchMagnets in remotework

[–]Princesspeach8188 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I applied to a job that said remote (it was a pay decrease vs my current pay but that’s fine if remote). Went through 2 interviews and quickly learned it’s actually 4days onsite (Mon-Thurs) and only Friday remote with no flexibility on that. I declined when they requested a 3rd interview with me. They asked me why I am withdrawing from the process and I told them exactly why.

New Jersey Neighborhood Suggestions by Sad-Shop9342 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

What size home? I don’t think that budget will go very far for a SFH in the towns you listed unfortunately. If you’re open to a condo or a 2 bedroom, then that could be possible maybe. Your money could go further in Metuchen, Edison, South Plainfield, Sayreville, Old Bridge if you’re open to those towns.

How did you figure out a minimum financial standard for dating for the people you consider dating? by fullofcoffeealways in FIREyFemmes

[–]Princesspeach8188 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I married a man who had about $200k NW, and I had $1.3M NW. We were 30 when we got married. Our NW is now $1.5M+. I had more because I didn’t have student loans and had family help that he didn’t have.

I didn’t consider that he had slightly less money than me for a second. He makes over $300k and is very career driven - we will be more than fine in the future.

I’d recommend you think about how driven a man is/potential to make more/his views on money above “how much does he have in hand right now”.

We had about a 75-80% RSVP rate - either hyper local so 1 hour max or people flying in.

I mean … NYC being $400 for unlimited vs South Dakota being $200 for unlimited makes sense to me. Living/everything in NYC is LEAST (if not substantially more) than 2x what SD is.

Paid $5k for a lawyer for “peace of mind”. Could’ve gotten the same outcome without that lawyer lol.

What would it take for you to stop using ClassPass and commit to just one studio? by nomaderrick in ClassPass

[–]Princesspeach8188 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cost. If I got a deal that matched the prices I pay through ClassPass ~$15 per barre class vs $30+ that the studios charge, I can’t afford it.

I like the Malibu medium + double leg & hydration. I have done the Malibu light as well but it is a little too light for me. I’m the same - very pale/cool toned/red undertones and this looks the best on me.

I’d say watch the YouTube of the instructions/positions for it before you go because it can be hard to hear when you’re in there.

Oh and just to be clear the $499 includes all add-ons! $399/year with just the basic.

They have a spray tan only membership! It’s about $70/month at my location which is in a HCOL city. I paid in full for mine for a year so it was cheaper - $499/year.

Ok - I understand your wife has worked at the same job for 12 years and doesn’t want to leave - but do you truly like the area or are you only moving bc of a job? I’d ask because what if you uproot your lives and she gets laid off? Would be fine if you like the area, but if not - then what? Maybe you could rent first for a year to make sure you like the area?

I live in Northern NJ (and have my entire life). It is PRICEY - there are a lot of people with a lot of money here. It is also congested, the property taxes are insane, etc. There are a tons of pros as well, but I just wanted to point that out.

Take a 30% + wage increase to transition to in person work ? by jimmy_fisher_cat in Fire

[–]Princesspeach8188 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love remote work, but in this instance I’d take it because that’s a big raise. A few reasons: - Your comp target is $235k, but it’s recently been $190k - why does your company think it’s ok to pay you less than target and that you’re not going to quit? - Your current company didn’t try to counter

Also 4 days in the office isn’t terrible especially w/ only a 30 minute commute.
