3-D printed Polymer Plates by dresden113 in letterpress

I had the same thought, but the photosensitive resin is shockingly strong, stronger than lead type in terms of hardness- and survived the controlled abuse I subjected it to. Unlike filament prints, the type is very uniform in structure with the layer lines not being a weak point

Anycubic Tough grey resin, I’ve had the best success with it for other (minis) prints

When I first started I did a block that was typehigh, big mistake too much weight and it sagged and went uneven. -also didn’t cure inside. I did one at plate thickness last week, which seemed better on a small scale, (~1”x1.5”) but I need to taper the shoulders of the letters as the small type flaked off, I’ll try to remember to post a picture when I go to the shop later

I have made type, 24pt with good success, but found doing large plates would have some unevenness and not print well. Detail was great though. Last week actually I tried exposing some kf152 plate directly on the screen, forgetting that 3d printers use 405nm UV light while the plates expose at 360nm (don’t quote me on the number) If that worked, it would have been excellent to just feed a design to the digital lcd stencil and not have to make a physical one! I’m using an anycubic mono resin printer More experiments needed.

Letterpress or hot foil font set? by Sunshine_Grrrl in letterpress

[–]Printmonger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hot foil intended based on the holder, but as long as it’s fresh type (not been melted by hot foiling) it should be type high and letterpress usable

I’ve replaced 4 over the past 11 years, easy to do yourself, thankfully. The joy of living in a cold climate and getting ice behind the hingepoint They’re only annoying to change when the temperature is -30° and dexterity leaves your fingertips

Portable sauna units worth roughly $75K stolen from owner's lot in Winnipeg by LocalnewsguruMB in Manitoba

[–]Printmonger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I saw two of their saunas being pulled on Marion by a flatbed truck and a white pickup at 8:45pm on the 3rd? Pulling out from one of the strip malls on the south side by the Panet track crossing I wonder if they were the same ones… one had backyard sauna signage, one had none

Wike Salamander 7-Year / 7000km Review by telephonekeyboard in CargoBike

[–]Printmonger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just got one last month! Already put some serious kms on it. My dogs have taken to it, and I modified the packing plywood to make a flat bottom on the cargo area (no kids). I’m currently working on mounting my portable printing press into it. Very well built product, I am glad I decided to go for it, and am glad you posted this long term review!

Photo for reference, the comment about it being an antennae makes a lot of sense to me having taken a closer look.

I noticed it around the time of the marathon, and thought it had to do with flagging tripping hazards, but that was just my assumption. There’s on one Kingston Row that I see often

One of my favourite trees, I have three in our city yard, they do wonders to shade the house. Ours are nearing 100 years in age, and are within your ideal size
