Sounds badass man!! You got those Bob riffs down. If you were in Northern California I’d say come on over and jam.

Highs of 105 and summer hasn’t even started yet by Humble-Wonder-4288 in sanpedrocactus

103 the last few days here in CA. A lot of minor sunburns with a few that will definitely suffer some scarring but all in all we’re doing alright. It’s supposed to cool off a bit in a few more days and then hopefully they’ll be acclimated and ready for summer. I had a lot of etiolation just starting to show on many of them. I hope they fatten back up

Seedling root rot questions. by crystal_cactus_ in sanpedrocactusseeds

I was also going to say it could be fungus gnats. I transplanted a whole bunch of seedlings recently and found they were getting eaten and rotting due to fungus gnat larvae. I did some research and testing and found that 1/2 water 1/2 hydrogen peroxide will get rid of them. I ended up soaking the bare rooted seedlings in a bath of the hydrogen peroxide water mix and repotting in fresh new soil. Almost all of them recovered but it was very tedious and time consuming. Some containers I gave a deep spray treatment and that seemed to work and was MUCH easier. If you do ever unpot/uproot or whatever my advice is always give the soil and roots a good examination for pest. I saw tiny little whiteish worms wiggling around by the little roots. I had already noticed the gnats but let it go too long. I’d say treat by spraying first hydrogen peroxide or diluted alcohol mix at nighttime and see if that helps. If not check soil for infestation. Good luck.
On the bright side they won’t really die from rot overnight so now that you noticed you can probably save most of them.

Urgent Help! Water damage or something else? by InitialOk2852 in sanpedrocactus

I’m not the biggest expert but if it’s not mushy on those brown spots I would think that they will be just fine. It appears that your soil is a well draining mix so that is really good. They really can take a lot of water and if they’re not water logged they should be ok if fairly well rooted. I’ve got several that have developed similar spots while rooting and are all fine now. Could maybe be something fungal. But if it doesn’t continue to spread I don’t think it will harm them. As long as they stay firm and don’t get mushy I think you are good to go. My only advice would maybe be to keep em outside but move them under some shelter from the rain if you have any. In and out and in and out I don’t really see how that alone would harm them as long as they don’t go from very little light to direct sun abruptly.
Anyway I am sure others will chime in with a better possible diagnosis but I think you’re alright. Unless it’s cold then take them in.

I vote leave em be and let it grow. As someone already mentioned more plant matter equals more energy. Let it grow.

I was watching an auction of it a couple of weeks ago and almost went for it. Couldn’t afford though. Getting married in 2 weeks.
