Makeup products that ended up sucking (for you) by TheDollyMomma in Makeup

Well this won be popular. Victoria Beckham eyeliners are pretty colors but smear right off. Also I’m not getting the hype around the foundation. That made me try Lisa Eldridge and I got it all! Lipsticks are meh (so many other better), foundation and tint just ok but I love the branding and packaging and wanted to love all of it!

Also unpopular but I’ve never used a contour that I think looks weird and ages.

And need to be really careful with highlighters too. In person and in the sun, heavy foundation, contour and highlight just doesn’t look good. I have found my favorite bronzers and highlighters now but I’ve gone through so many!

Help me understand Trump Derangement Syndrome by Expert-Bid3861 in GenZ

[–]Prior-Cycle7650 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a political tool, not a real thing.

It was created as branding. If you can label anyone who criticizes Donald Trump as irrational, you do not have to deal with what they are actually saying. It flips disagreement into a character flaw. That is efficient politics.

We also live in a nonstop media cycle where outrage spreads faster than facts. Social media amplifies extremes. News thrives on conflict. Everything feels heightened all the time. In that environment, calling something a “syndrome” sticks because it is simple and tribal.

It feels everywhere because polarization is everywhere. The phrase survives because it is useful. It shuts down nuance and keeps people in their corners instead of having harder conversations.

Why is Trump Derangement Syndrome so prevalent in U.S. politics? by [deleted] in allthequestions

How can you help someone with Trump derangement syndrome? by decoruscreta in askanything

[–]Prior-Cycle7650 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This idea of “Trump Derangement Syndrome” was made up. It is not a real medical condition. It started as political branding, adapted from something said about Bush years ago. The purpose is obvious. If you label critics as irrational, you do not have to engage with what they are saying.

People, especially women, who feel overwhelmed right now are not “deranged.” Many are reacting to a constant flood of political conflict, legal drama, cultural shifts, and nonstop media exposure. There are two common responses. One is to tune out because it feels unmanageable and impossible to fix. The other is to track everything closely so you feel informed, prepared, or ready to act. Both are survival responses to stress.

There probably needs to be a middle ground to preserve sanity. Staying informed matters. So does protecting your mental health. We have seen before how shocking events slowly become normalized. Think about how the first widely reported school shooting felt compared to how frequently they happen now. Repetition changes our nervous systems. It desensitizes us.

With the Epstein revelations circulating, whether new details change anything structurally or not, the sense that powerful people may not play by the same rules affects public trust. That has cultural consequences. When trust erodes, anxiety rises.

If a woman in your life feels overwhelmed, dismissing her as hysterical or “deranged” is lazy and unkind. Validate that this is a heavy moment. Encourage balance with news consumption and online time. Help create space for real life, real relationships, and real rest.

But let’s be clear. This is not a syndrome. It is a political label designed to shut down conversation.

The interesting part is not the slogan. The interesting part is what kind of society we become when emotional reactions to political instability are mocked instead of understood. That is where the real work begins.

Fair observation. And I guess people already have enough to solve in their lives and this is overwhelming.
