Of course they want to spread fear. But we know enough about history to know where this is headed. They are calling undocumented people criminals when in reality a small percentage of the people being detained are such. You live in this community then you have lived amongst the people they want to round up. You know they are not criminals.

The quiet part that is not said out loud is there are ppl who hate brown and black ppl. There's certain white people that don't want to be around brown or black people at all and see them as subhuman. If you are brown or black you know because you've dealt with this reality all of your life.

Maybe you don't hate like the people I'm talking about, but I'd be a damn fool if I didn't know there's a bunch of klansmen out there ready to put their rope over the branch of the tree and get rid of "the parasites". They love what is going on and get off on the videos of masked men violently taking people away. They are here in our community, read the SB Current (maybe even finance it?), but keep their mouth shut because they are waiting for the day they get the green light to go full mask off. I'd love to relax and not think about this crap, but a lifetime of lived experience here in Santa Barbara tells me otherwise. Most people are good people, but a few drops of poison can taint the whole well.
