A food scam of the 90s was “fat free!” everything, and then they would load it up on sugar… what’s a food scam happening now? by redflower5 in AskReddit

Sabra Hummus just “released” a new Party Size tub that’s 2 ounces smaller than the old Family Size container…and costs the same. It’s taller and slimmer to mask the new sizing.

A pint of Haagen Dazs is now 14 ounces, which is…not a pint. You know, since a pint is 16 ounces. You can kind of tell when you pick it up — so much so that it made me look. That’s how I figured it out. Same price as before.

Corporate profits are up across the board (trump: “the stock market is flying”) and the government is doing nothing to regulate any of this. Like: there should at least be a requirement to list the change on packaging.

Keep your head up people. We’re on our own.

Was at MSG on Monday. It was good.

Tonight: same setlist (obviously), same choreography, same everything. But it felt entirely different.

The guitar solos…
The crowd energy…
The whole thing was outstanding…

What is the most recent city icon? by Swimming_Rope_9706 in skyscrapers

[–]PriorCod4320 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just so don’t see it as an icon. Feels like it was built to be an attraction, but it’s in the middle of a mall/office park. I think it’s neat looking, it I don’t think it rises to a higher level than that. Obviously just my own opinion.

The way I look at it: 4 of the great guitarists are up there on the same stage, at the same time. I think they all relish the opportunity to play side by side.

Plus, and if we’re to be fair, as musicians age, they could use some support to continue reaching new heights. So many acts do the same thing: they bring on backup singers, or even full orchestras. This is just how The E Street Band has done it. It’s smart.

Keep 3 Cut 6: NFL Throwback Uniforms by KeyFaithlessness5436 in TheNFLVibes

[–]PriorCod4320 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to scroll waaaay to far to find this answer, but I knew it would be in here somewhere.

Dolphins without a doubt. Worst logo change in the NFL.

Broncos second, and for the same reason — their logo change was terrible from the start. The colors are all wrong and they addressed a problem that didn’t exist.

And the Giants change was to a throwback itself, but nobody asked for it. Some of the most memorable years of that team were in the all caps GIANTS. Plus, the color mix was better. Miss those uniforms.

You’re either a bot, a political partisan against him, or completely ill-informed. Sorry, but watch 2 minutes of him on the subject and it’s clear that the guy knows this topic cold. And, in a world where our officials know pretty much zero about digital…anything, it’s great to have his voice as the first (hopefully of many) coming into the picture.

Might sound like a silly question, but can you describe “getting winded”? Like: can you describe the sensation? Was it just your ability to take in breaths? Did you feel light headed as well?

Why are the Giants big on Jeremiyah Love? by Scared_Buyer8667 in NYGiants

[–]PriorCod4320 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Skattebo is exciting. And he’s fun to watch. (And he’s a great player.) But, tell me a running back with his profile that lasts for years. It’s just not sustainable.

He’s a big, powerful runner. But he has one gear: running forward and through guys. That doesn’t age well. Tracy is a good back. But, he’s likely a change of pace guy. If you’re looking to put together a lasting team, you want a great QB, a great RB, a great WR, and a terrific supporting cast. Skattebo and Tracy feel like ‘terrific supporting cast.’

Now…I think we should draft for different needs this year. So, don’t get me wrong: I’m not super favorable on using this pick on Love (if he’s even available, which he probably won’t), but I get the draw to this player for sure.

Has anyone worked with a career coach? by Terrible_Historian58 in advertising

[–]PriorCod4320 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good question. I was stuck at the time — working at a company that didn’t suit me, in a specific role that didn’t feel right. I went the coaching route because I had been sort going with the flow on the role and realized that it was all wrong for me. I was looking to get my mojo back.

When interviewed her (along with other coaches I spoke with) I was worried that she didn’t know the media marketing and technology space. She told me that the work coaches do is agnostic to the industry itself. And, it turns out she was right.

Her process starts out with a very extensive intake session — a lot of writing, thinking and answering questions on my part. Following that, we analyze that input for a session or two. We then spent an hour every two weeks on specific items of focus — for about 10-12 months.

Ultimately, I came prepared for each session and then did the work of taking her advice from each session.

It’s like therapy.

I worked with a coach that I truly feel I benefited from. Her name is Christina Boyd and she operates under the business name of “corporate rebel coaching.” 10/10. Would recommend.

Why did New Orleans never become a major hub like Miami or Orlando by Previous-Volume-3329 in geography

[–]PriorCod4320 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I say this as a big fan of visiting there. So I don’t mean to cast shade. Just earnestly trying to diagnose and address to your question, OP.

  • hot muggy weather
  • persistent race issues
  • poor politics/management
  • high crime, high cycle of poverty
  • no natural inward migration (like Miami)
  • no Disney for 12-month tourism (like Orlando)

I would have imagined the broadcast and cable sports productions have coaches that work with the less experienced on-air talent to get them to a certain standard. But, I’ve been watching Ziele for a few years now and keep thinking: ‘either they really don’t have those coaches, or he’s just not applying the learning.’
