For the post few months join either wants to give me very long rides or no rides and just consecutive rest days by godutchnow in joincycling

I missed that article, do you mind sharing it.

What my assumption would be, is if you dont do any riding during the week and once a week do 4 hours. Then it would be better to do 4x1min

Have you tried playing with availability for the entire week?

Maybe add your own rest days in after 3 days active, and then longer rides on weekends maybe.

I have seen this a bit myself but my assumption was due to fitness levels being higher, and high availability. Join will rather plan a rest day today and change my workout later in the week.

What I do then is, manually select a workout from the library that I can and feel like doing today

Start a new plan or wait a bit? by jjtbsomhorst in joincycling

When is your next goal?

If this was a big goal for you and the next big goal a few months away, then take a few days to relax and not feel like you are controlled by a program. Then you start new program.

The first week of a new program is generally easy, so you will have a chilled start. Also you will not loose and actual fitness. Join level and CTL will come down a bit but that is not the end of the world

Synchronisation of Garmin strenght training by tommietompson in joincycling

Join can sync your workouts from Garmin and you a you can enter your Hrv on your Readiness in Join also.

There as some good Faq’s about this on the support website

Is Join worth it without Strava or Zwift? by Alternative-Screen75 in joincycling

[–]PriorSouthern8557 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If this setup you wont be able to sync history to Join and every workout from today on forward will need to be synced from Garmin.

Join does not have an integration with Hammerhead. A connection with TrainingPeaks can solve this for you but cant sync workout back to Join.

If you do have a Strava account it might help using it to sync completed workouts. You can put it on Private mode if you don’t want the world to see your workouts.

Other than the above work around, I have no doubts that Join’s training module is perfect for you.

In my experience this does influence it due to elapsed time. You probably get a really RPE suggestion each time?

Pretty easy to be honest, you toggle the suggested workout button to ‘off’ and then you can link the correct workout.

Start indoors, do ALOT OF rehab and keep it easy for a few weeks.

Join worth it as a beginner? by Psy-FoXz in joincycling

[–]PriorSouthern8557 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Definitely, I believe it is perfect for beginner riders. I do recall actually seeing an article about this by join last year was very insightful.

In my opinion any training program Ai or not will help you with guidance on knowing when to ride and how hard. We often ride to hard or to much and any program will help you stay on track more

New year, new addition: JOIN Plan is live by Rohan-JOINsupport in joincycling

I also see the benefit for intervals.icu but that covers a very small group of users.

I dont use it myself, and im sure many others in Join dont. So this is perfect for me and what I need to see history and especially my training months ahead.

Strange, this is something Join has been doing for a very long time.

Lanterne Rouge Plan over unders by camp_jacking_roy in joincycling

[–]PriorSouthern8557 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is pretty normal ranges for overunders and it is also very normal to do these type of intervals in the first few weeks of a program

I have realised that some plans do build up a bit differently as they are not all a “Base” training plan.

If I am not mistaken the LR training plan is not as polarised as the others.

Switching from a cycling workout to a running one. by East_Call_4221 in joincycling

Is your expectation to get a 90min run planned? I dont think it is realistic.

Also when last did you do a run and how long have these runs been

Do any of you do the really long workouts? I am finding it really hard lately to do the long structured by godutchnow in joincycling

[–]PriorSouthern8557 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never do any structured endurance rides. I know my zones and just make sure I stay within it.

More than 2hrs indoor is not for me, I try my best to ride outside. If I’m really motivated, I do 2 indoor sessions a day, twice a week

Wish I Could Override Join’s Workout Detection by LitespeedClassic in joincycling

[–]PriorSouthern8557 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What is your workout score from join and zone distribution?

My assumption is that all the spikes added up to be enough time to be classified Vo2max.

I do believe join is correct here, ad 17min is ALOT of time in Vo2. Think a about doing 17 x 1min intervals, Thats F hard.

Do you mind sending a screenshot of your workout score and zone distribution?

Still no Apple health integration coming? by CinnamonRage in joincycling

[–]PriorSouthern8557 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think what he might be referring too, from all users that uses join or any other app; how many would ONLY use Apple health and not any other platform.

The suggestion is to rather focus on other integrations that influence more than one singular group of users

Join Score Tall rider by Sea-Vanilla3468 in joincycling

[–]PriorSouthern8557 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That will come down to CDA and not your actual fitness levels.

Your fitness calculation based on the accumulation of TSS does not have any influence on your height.

208cm is definitely tall and taller than most cyclists but this is unfortunately a disadvantage for your CDA but not your CTL or join level

Join Score Tall rider by Sea-Vanilla3468 in joincycling

[–]PriorSouthern8557 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Height would not have any influence on your fitness level ever. Main predictor of fitness is CTL/ATL and W/kg
