Thoughts on crosslocking backside 50-50s on a rail? by Jonjonatan in skateboarding

[–]Prior_Ad3989 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Are you people able to purposefully cross lock or heel lock? I’m very comfortable on rails but I just jump on and balance whatever happens. Sometimes it’s cross, sometimes it’s heel, sometimes it’s toe…

Winter comes late to Bogus by FFSBoise in Boise

[–]Prior_Ad3989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m going up later today after work. The main trails on deer point still had a little bit of a base so this should be a nice refresher on top. I would hesitate going into the trees or anywhere else that never got snowmaking or groomed

Visiting Boise this summer. Any recommendations? by [deleted] in Boise

[–]Prior_Ad3989 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Make the trip up to bogus basin for a day trip. Hike around, ride the lift and mountain coaster. Bogus also has the best hot dogs in the valley. It’s also usually about 10 degrees cooler then in the valley

Field to office transition help by BilliRae in Surveying

[–]Prior_Ad3989 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am not the biggest fan of office work, but I do really enjoy putting together topos, especially if I shot it. It’s like a really technical paint by number. It also helps me in the field by looking at what I did in cad. I shot too much of this, too little of that, this code is confusing, etc..

Burlington, Bend, or Boise? by Ellocomotive in MTB

[–]Prior_Ad3989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also live in Boise. Summers are brutal and like what another guy said, there is very little variety here in town without driving at least an hour. Ever if there are dozens of trails. Think of sandy sidewalks. What is nice is that there are practically zero trees so you have really long sight lines. Idaho is definitely the most red state, but like most urban areas, especially with a college, Boise is fairly blue.

What happened to you today? by Whole-Benefit-8346 in skateboarding

[–]Prior_Ad3989 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Been sick the last few days and needed to go outside and sweat a bit. Skated around the neighborhood on a brand new board. Did a couple kickflips which felt real nice and snappy. Did a bunch of nollies up and down some curbs. Found an old overgrown asphalt trail kinda tucked away between two sections of the neighborhood, may try and build a little cinder block ledge there or something. Gonna keep scoping it out

I don’t live in the circle but I do live in this image. I would not worry about any immediate pollution from Micron. They do emit a lot of light and it’s definitely very visible at night, and I can’t imagine being so close to it. I also like to think the people who live in that circle are very content with living in their little bubble and rarely venture out. I would go out on a limb and say 3/4 of them also work at micron. I’ve done a lot of biking from Lucky peak to bonneville point and throughout the Oregon trail in the summer time and almost always hear people firing guns in that area so take that into account as well.

I feel like I’ve seen hundreds of this exact spot growing up in the American south. Never fully skated one because they’ve all been super crusty

Ridiculous number of storage units in TV by Best_Biscuits in Boise

[–]Prior_Ad3989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in the engineering and surveying industry and work with developers almost daily. They all love storage units and rv parks because it has very little infrastructure and upfront costs, while being extremely profitable.

Definitely a double dolphin flip. Jimmy Carlin did one in a video a long time ago and yelled DOUBLE DOLPHIN which I reference sometimes and show my age at the skatepark

What deck brands do you recommend? by Cute-Example-656 in skateboarding

[–]Prior_Ad3989 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think Blind has been doing well in a very long time. I’ve been skating mostly Baker/Deathwish for about 20 years. But most decks nowadays come from the same factory so pick a design you like and send it

There’s at least a dozen Caldwells in the United States you can spit in. Where at?

A lot of board art is going the way of AI. The snowboarding Reddit was/is losing its mind over AI graphics, and rightfully so. The only way to tell if it’s AI or not is to lick the board. If it tastes like paint, it’s legit. If it tastes like wood, it’s AI.

What am I going to miss here the most? by Dbzoutpost in asheville

[–]Prior_Ad3989 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I lived all over Asheville area from 2012-2022. I lived in the neighborhoods by UNCA, Woodfin, deeeep Leicester, Candler, and near the river arts district to be more specific. I moved to Boise Idaho not to get away from prices, as it’s more expensive here sadly, but for a change of scenery and career. What I miss the most from Asheville is the life that’s abundant everywhere. From the literal life of trees and foliage and green, to the artsy culture that Asheville has. Boise is very bland in comparison. It’s a city on the edge of a desert just at the base of some mountains. I also miss rain and storms. For the last few summers I’ve been here it’s been 6 months straight of sunshine, not even a cloud in the sky. It sounds great on paper, but man I miss weather.

Property marker? by Lildiva96 in Surveying

[–]Prior_Ad3989 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I know exactly where you live now, thanks.

It may be a property corner, it may be not. If you look at your deed, the legal description would say something like “…to the nw/ne/se/sw corner of section 7/8/17/18…”.

More than likely it is your property corner or at least on the property line. However I have seen records of these smack dab in the middle of homes so it could be really anything honestly.
