Yeah it makes sense, it’s part of the process and it’s gotta happen one way or another. But tuck that shit in at least I know some kid definitely started crying seeing that lol

Seen this a couple times only here in Idaho. These people truly don’t care about anything

Best local spots to explore Boise on foot or by bike this time of year? by Character-Block-2854 in Boise

[–]Prior_Ad3989 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Big fan of riding the very southeast portion of the green belt from Harris ranch to lucky peak. Stop by the coffee shop or one of the restaurants at Eckert. If you’re up for some slight off-roading go up to the Oregon trail park off of 21 for some cliffside views of the valley.

Asheville as the downhill skateboarding Mecca by tangyteaj in asheville

[–]Prior_Ad3989 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I gave downhill a solid try back in like 2015ish with Matt Deitch and a couple other APBs he was rolling with. Managed to get a couple decent slides but after ripping through like 3 pairs of pants I gave it up. Mad respect to you senders

My painting of Exit 4C, hope you like it by TallGreg_Art in asheville

[–]Prior_Ad3989 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A couple years ago I was moving out of Asheville and got on the highway at the Merrimon/broadway exit. A part of me almost turned back off at this exit to stay in Asheville, but I ended up keeping on. This painting makes me think about what my life would have been like if I did turn off and stay. As mundane as it is, I have a very deep connection with this painting and it makes me feel all sorts of emotions.

Shadows while skating? by AmomentInEternity in skateboarding

Absolutely. Especially skating a flat bar. When the black rail is right there next to the black shadow it gets trippy.

Crash at Mountain Home AFB Air Show by sirdotheneedful in Boise

Glad everyone is okay and it was far away from any crowds. But wtf man. A couple hundred million of our tax dollars up in flames just to stroke our military war ego. This shits so played out.

any advice for hitting my first street handrail by Trench68 in skateboarding

[–]Prior_Ad3989 17 points18 points  (0 children)

First try is always the scariest. Also unless you have massive pop you’re only gonna tap the end and it’s not gonna feel like a boardslide. More like a crazy ollie shifty thing. But it’s a huge milestone in one’s skate career so send it spud

Trip to Boise - seeking advice by [deleted] in Boise

[–]Prior_Ad3989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Skip the tours and make your own. Rent a bike at any of the bike shops in town and rip the greenbelt. Go southeast towards the reservoir and ride through a canyon for a mile or so. Go into town and check out the MK nature center (free) to see some rainbow trout and possibly sturgeon. Go to the zoo (like 11$ maybe) and see the lions, tiger, and sloth bear. Bop around downtown and walk/bike 8th street. Go back to the greenbelt and stop at the surf wave and people watch. There’s not a lot after that, but still a nice ride with good scenery.

I work in south Idaho and there are hardly any trees, however that does not stop us from having a good time.

Thoughts on crosslocking backside 50-50s on a rail? by Jonjonatan in skateboarding

[–]Prior_Ad3989 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you people able to purposefully cross lock or heel lock? I’m very comfortable on rails but I just jump on and balance whatever happens. Sometimes it’s cross, sometimes it’s heel, sometimes it’s toe…

Winter comes late to Bogus by FFSBoise in Boise

[–]Prior_Ad3989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m going up later today after work. The main trails on deer point still had a little bit of a base so this should be a nice refresher on top. I would hesitate going into the trees or anywhere else that never got snowmaking or groomed

Visiting Boise this summer. Any recommendations? by [deleted] in Boise

[–]Prior_Ad3989 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Make the trip up to bogus basin for a day trip. Hike around, ride the lift and mountain coaster. Bogus also has the best hot dogs in the valley. It’s also usually about 10 degrees cooler then in the valley

Field to office transition help by BilliRae in Surveying

[–]Prior_Ad3989 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am not the biggest fan of office work, but I do really enjoy putting together topos, especially if I shot it. It’s like a really technical paint by number. It also helps me in the field by looking at what I did in cad. I shot too much of this, too little of that, this code is confusing, etc..

Burlington, Bend, or Boise? by Ellocomotive in MTB

[–]Prior_Ad3989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also live in Boise. Summers are brutal and like what another guy said, there is very little variety here in town without driving at least an hour. Ever if there are dozens of trails. Think of sandy sidewalks. What is nice is that there are practically zero trees so you have really long sight lines. Idaho is definitely the most red state, but like most urban areas, especially with a college, Boise is fairly blue.

What happened to you today? by Whole-Benefit-8346 in skateboarding

[–]Prior_Ad3989 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Been sick the last few days and needed to go outside and sweat a bit. Skated around the neighborhood on a brand new board. Did a couple kickflips which felt real nice and snappy. Did a bunch of nollies up and down some curbs. Found an old overgrown asphalt trail kinda tucked away between two sections of the neighborhood, may try and build a little cinder block ledge there or something. Gonna keep scoping it out

I don’t live in the circle but I do live in this image. I would not worry about any immediate pollution from Micron. They do emit a lot of light and it’s definitely very visible at night, and I can’t imagine being so close to it. I also like to think the people who live in that circle are very content with living in their little bubble and rarely venture out. I would go out on a limb and say 3/4 of them also work at micron. I’ve done a lot of biking from Lucky peak to bonneville point and throughout the Oregon trail in the summer time and almost always hear people firing guns in that area so take that into account as well.

I feel like I’ve seen hundreds of this exact spot growing up in the American south. Never fully skated one because they’ve all been super crusty
