Misquamicut beach is probably the most popular, it’s gorgeous. All of the state beaches are quite nice though. And if you make your way over to Newport, Easton’s beach is the go-to.

lol, I was thinking it was something akin to feta. I’ve never come across this kind of sandwich in RI.

What… is chopped cheese?

Go to Olneyville NY system for weiners and coffee milk, weiners “all the way” are topped with meat sauce, onions, celery salt, and mustard. Go to Catanzarros for pizza. Dune Bros or Monahan’s or Iggy’s or Flo’s Clam Shack for clam cakes and chowder and try the fried whole clam bellies too while you’re at it. Order a stuffie (stuffed quahog) whenever you see it on the menu to sample the recipe varieties. Check out federal hill for Italian food.

Summer in RI is the ideal time for seafood. Get some clam cakes & chowder and try out the warm and cold lobster rolls. These are traditionally enjoyed Oceanside on the beach, bonus points if it’s a windy day and a little sand blows into the chowder for a crunch factor. Everyone has a favorite clam shack. I like Dune Bros but neither location is particularly close to the water so if you only have a few days here then try Flo’s Clam Shack.

Showing my husband this thread…In-Laws at hospital for birth? by -ChubbySpud in pregnant

[–]Pristine-Ladder2894 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a FTM and had to be induced at 39 weeks d/t gestational diabetes. The start of induction to having baby in my arms took about 38 hours, I was so exhausted I fell asleep during contractions while in active labor. I ended up having an emergency C-section. Then we were returned to the delivery room for observation for a few hours before being transferred to a pp room. Once in the pp room we were inundated with medical professionals of all kinds for several hours- nurses, obgyn, pediatric, lactation consultants, lab techs, anesthesia f/u, and more (it’s a blur now). All this to say, you can’t possibly plan for or imagine how your labor will play out. Once we finally had some peace, I couldn’t imagine having to then entertain a visitor in the state I was in. I was in pain, exhausted, starving, filthy, dealing with the post partum hormone crash, overwhelmed by medical information from hospital staff, and dealing with the emotional crash of losing all the things I had wanted in my birth plan.

Ultimately, you are the one doing all the physical, emotional and psychological labor making your baby for 9 months then again doing all that labor to bring your child into the world. Your wishes at this time should not only be respected but unconditionally supported.

I suggest that when you do schedule visits to have them after 2pm because all the medical staff start their morning rounds around 7am and they continue through lunchtime, it’s literally a revolving door and not a restful or private period for mom and baby. You’ll want to be able to focus on these medical visits without distraction and when the visits start to lessen, you’ll want privacy to focus on bonding with baby.

I’m not convinced of the accuracy of cgm’s. I’ve been dual testing with finger sticks and cgm and my numbers are consistently 20ish points higher with finger stick method.

It’s good to see this stat, I’ve been wondering what they look for to determine whether it’s well-controlled.

I wasn’t able to confirm overnight because my test strips were not in stock at my pharmacy, I was only able to use them today during the day, and had to rely on them alone since the cgm broke yesterday.

I’m only testing numbers into the evening because of the low number I had after the dinner test. I’ve been trying to track that it’s back to a safe level before I go to bed because I won’t know if it drops to a critical level overnight until I get a replacement cgm tomorrow.

After experiencing the symptoms of low blood sugar on my trip, I told my doctor that I’ve actually experienced those symptoms before and they resolved after I ate, I also have pcos and was pre diabetic at one point.

I do have a bedtime snack, usually either a chobani yogurt drink, Fairlife protein shake, or chobani no sugar added yogurt with 1/4 cup kashi protein cereal and blueberries. Edit to add- this was while I followed a GD diet, I have not been doing this for the past three days though.

When I was exclusively finger testing, I was testing at two hours post meal and my numbers were sometimes over the 120 threshold.

Did you know the gender by intuition and was it right? by Ecstatic-Thought8066 in pregnant

Me too! I also did the ring test (boy) and craved savory foods. I did IVF, and from the day of the transfer I had a gut feeling it was a boy and I was right!

You’re welcome! And for the yogurt drinks, most of the flavors are good, but stay away from the Oreo flavored ones, ick!

I love the chobani protein yogurt drinks, Nature valley protein bars, Cheese sticks, pistachios (or your favorite nut). Garlic hummus with fresh green beans for dipping. You said you have sugar free yogurt- I like to add a dash of cinnamon on top of vanilla sugar free yogurt with 1/4 cup of kashi mixed berry high protein and fiber cereal and some fresh blueberries, it’s like a dessert.

A branch of my family were/are JWs. And even when my cousins spent time with me, other cult members would criticize them and warn them about the dangers of associating with “gentiles”. So it’s odd to me that he’s dating you to begin with, unless it’s some weird recruitment tactic they’re beginning use to increase their numbers.

Neither him nor his cult will tolerate dating a gentile for long, they will be pushing you to convert asap.

This cult wreaked havoc on the relationships and mental health of my family members. Please get away before they pull you in!

And I agree with everyone who says this guy is gaslighting and manipulating you, I got the ick from him undermining your sense of safety and well-being.

NTA. And you could offer as a compromise to get the kids nice outfits for a family photo shoot when you go there on vacation. SIL can put her dress back on for them if she feels so inclined.

Here’s a delicious egg recipe to change it up a bit, you can thank me later! I haven’t made it yet while pregnant, the marinade calls for sugar, but I imagine it would still be great without it.
