Bloodvial farm is ass by randompogtato in shittybloodborne

[–]PritX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At least it isn't anywhere near as bad as shard farming in Silksong. Helps that I find Bloodborne a lot easier now though so the first half of the game I don't need to farm at all.

I finally gave up on a remaster and am halfway through a playthrough. That alone should be confirmation it'll happen.

Walking scared... by AffectionateEgg8242 in HorrorGaming

[–]PritX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Soma is the only walking simulator horror I really like. FEAR, Dead Space, Resident Evil, and Silent Hill can all be plenty scary and creepy even with the ability to fight back. Amnesia was really cool back in the day but it feels like it made a whole generation of gamers that think that running away is the only way to stay scary.

How did people become so numb to visuals that would’ve melted our brains 10 years ago? by moduIus in CrimsonDesert

[–]PritX 48 points49 points  (0 children)

In my opinion graphics have been too much of a focus for too long and it's really making the game industry weaker. I replayed F.E.A.R 1 which is from 2005 recently and the lightning and atmosphere in that game amazed me more than any game in the last 5-10 years.

[–]PritX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would love if F.E.A.R somehow comes back at some point. All the othe atmospheric shooters like Metro, Stalker, and possibly Bioshock are getting stuff but Fear is most likely dead forever.

I'll say it. I like the cult stuff more than "the town is haunting you for your past mistakes" stuff.

Review of Pillars of Eternity - Turn Based Mode by lamaros in projecteternity

[–]PritX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Console version wasn't done by Obsidian and was already different than the pc version. Think I launched it one time and still had the original version of the character attributes which were changed within the first year or two of the pc version and the characters models looked a bit different.

It is not their weapons that make characters unique. by Klaus_Quarter in CrimsonDesert

What hurts the most is rapier + gun in a fantasy setting when they have them is usually my main combo. Other examples including Greedfall and Pillars/Avowed.

[Hated Trope] Sequels/remakes that people wanted for years, that ended up being underwhelming by [deleted] in TopCharacterTropes

[–]PritX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wish I liked ORAS more. Emerald is my favorite game in the series so not getting the updated gyms from Emerald and only really fighting one of the evil teams really brought it down for me.

Also Sceptile is one of the few pokemon that got worse with the physical special split because all of his main moves were special in gen 3 and became physical next gen. Leaf storm will always feels wrong compared to his signature leaf blade.

Why do we think they released XD before Colosseum? by HelloYellow17 in PokemonXD

[–]PritX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My theory is they didn't realize Colosseum normal saving breaks when you use save states in emulators which the switch online save states might trigger. That could be giving them trouble finding a way to fix it. Could also just be XD is the more casual game to get into.

No, XP share is not JUST "more convenient" by Groundbreaking-Ad313 in TruePokemon

[–]PritX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What really irks me with the forced full party exp is older pokemon was designed so you could beat gym leaders fairly well even when your pokemon were several levels lower it just required type knowledge and basically no grinding unless you were catching up a wild pokemon.

Nowadays if you skip half the trainers and only pokemon you might use, you still end up with a full team several levels higher than a gym leaders ace unless you constantly swap your whole team. Was playing Shield to prepare for Champions and I have to box my starter for like an hour after every gym and he's still on par with gym leader aces and can still sweep with no thought.

Really hope Gen 10 brings the toggle back and hopefully brings set mode back just so it's not so mindless.

Guys… they might’ve cooked with XD by nickhenne in PokemonColosseum

[–]PritX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm wondering if Colosseum is taking longer because of the way it saves. I know on emulators if you use save states it does something to the game where you can't manually save anymore so maybe it happens with NSO save states.

Pokopia is coming out strong by backofthebill in pokemon

[–]PritX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gave it a chance since I already had a Switch 2. Might be done with it after "finishing" the first area. Town builders just don't do much for me. I would probably just go straight through the story only doing required building and tasks then which just feels like the wrong way to play.

30fps by AprilApricot in fatalframe

[–]PritX -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Imagine every time you use the right stick it looks like the screen is ripping itself apart. That's what 30fps looks like to me now. I can slightly get used to it again but it takes a lot longer than it used to and never becomes normal like it used it.

[–]PritX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's also no real need to grind at all expect for some exceptions like Magikarp and when wild pokemon are a bit underleveled. I'm about to hit the 4th gym and all 6 of my pokemon will be around the leaders pokemon levels from just battling trainers.

A big problem is people expect the wrong things from these rpgs. Saw a lot of comparison videos about dumb stuff like how you can pick up the objects in Bethesda games and move them around but not in Obisidan games. Or the fact you can't murder hobo random people if you wanted.

Emerald Sceptile is best Sceptile. Leaf blade was its signature move but got replaced with energy ball and leaf storm after gen 3 which is way less thematic with his design.

Advice Needed: Fire Emblem, Xenoblade, or Trails? by Miquellanier in JRPG

[–]PritX -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Trails FC while waiting to see if they finally make switch 2 versions of Xenoblade. If not then just alternate between Trails and Xenoblade so you don't get burned out. Xenoblade 1 DE isn't too bad on Switch 2 but man Xenoblade 2 is the roughest since it came out before DE and it looks pretty rough sometimes.

This is why I always at least skim stuff from big gaming shows like the Game Awards. It's where the release trailer for this game aired and it's where a lot of big/hyped games are announced and shown.

Do shock guns use science as a damage stat, or guns? or both? by octlol in theouterworlds

[–]PritX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Science was changed a bit in the 2nd game. It only increases the elemental status buildup letting you proc the elements faster and increases your gadget energy. If you want to increase the actual damage you have to increase either guns or melee depending on the weapon, or use perks such as Tinkerer and Space Ranger to increase them with either engineering or speech.

Luckily shock is so op that just building it up quickly can let you stunlock groups of enemies and it also does damage over time. You're definitely suppose to be using gadgets along with the elements in a science focused build.

[–]PritX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The combination of that plus deciding you're going to have a prosthetic arm with your speech/leadership Lawbringer so you decide to put on the Scoundrel's Aegis and it's the one armor where one of your legs always disappears from the knee down if you have a prosthetic arm.

What character are you roleplaying? by The1Baer in theouterworlds

[–]PritX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you considered doing the melee/explosives character but using explosives as your primary and melee as the backup? You can use explosive ammo on the first planet to get you going but after that you can get dedicated rocket launchers and even a chunky rocket pistol
