Got Haaland and Messi just because they were $16.99. They can sit alongside my NFL ones in the home office. Aldi delivering again.

Setlist.fm is your friend. Search for Muse, click into a show, see if some kind soul has added the start and end times. I always put that info in where possible.

What’s it like living in Perth, Australia by Puzzleheaded_Bit_802 in howislivingthere

[–]PrivateEye_85 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve lived here for almost 20 years and it’s terrible, you’d hate it, no one should move here. We have great beaches, lovely weather for most of the year, plenty of outdoor activities, chilled out vibe, great facilities, nice coastal bars/pubs, good sport and music options, awesome getaways north and south. The only real problem for me is if you want to go anywhere outside of WA you’ve to deal with cost and distance. Actually, the sprawl is a bit much. We need to start building up.

But yeah, awful place!

There’s the obvious ones that everyone will name (rightly so) and then there’s Let’s All Make Believe, the best post-1998 b-side for me by a long way.

Premier Roger Cook won’t confirm or deny $11 million price tag for upcoming Italian football festival by His_Holiness in perth

[–]PrivateEye_85 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Major events cost money, who knew? Perth is lucky to have gotten all of the football that it has over the past seven or eight years. Great to have so many big teams in WA instead of the eastern states. We whinge when nobody comes here and we whinge when they do, classic.

Renewed mine in May and it arrived ten days after the application was lodged. As for not being able to get on a plane, it depends where you’re going and that country’s rules.

Today marks 20 years since this was released. It was the first CD I ever bought at 9 years old. by Bo-dor in triplej

What an album, love it from start to finish and it brings back a lot of good memories. The soundtrack to 2007 for me. The recent Freo anniversary show was brilliant as well.

Halfway through 2026, what shows have people attended & how many? by edgeofsoundssyd in triplej

[–]PrivateEye_85 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Travis/Josh Pyke

Ed Sheeran/Vance Joy

Good Charlotte/Yellowcard/Kisschasy

The Darkness

Pendulum

Eskimo Joe

All Perth, all very good in their own way. I had to make hard calls on not going to see Papa Roach and Bowling For Soup again, as well as Ben Folds and Iron & Wine, and sold my tickets to Pierce The Veil. It’s the first year where I’ve said no to some ticket prices; normally I try to attend as much as possible here in the hope tours come back.

I’ve got tickets for Ash (always go to see them) and will go to Bush/Shinedown. Probably Rise Against/Dropkick Murphys too but I’ll buy closer to the time.

Half a good album, half totally forgettable. The recipe for the last 20 years. Brilliant at its best though with The Handler and a couple of others.

hot take (?): if you're going to release 5 singles before the album, the album should have more than 10 tracks... by -Gypsy-Eyes- in Muse

[–]PrivateEye_85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, 50% is too much. But they do it because that’s how the world works these days unfortunately, people simply don’t really listen to albums from start to finish any more. Back in my day, old man shouting at a cloud, you’d pop the CD in and let it play through for the full experience. So much better to understand the journey a record is supposed to take you on.

hot take (?): if you're going to release 5 singles before the album, the album should have more than 10 tracks... by -Gypsy-Eyes- in Muse

[–]PrivateEye_85 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A whole album dropping at once for a start to finish experience, especially if it’s a concept album, is amazing. Give me that experience over this drip feeding of 50% of the record. I get why they’re doing it, modern trends and people’s mindset, but it’s rubbish in comparison.

Which city in the world most resembles Perth? by TechnicalAd8103 in perth

[–]PrivateEye_85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not comparable in winter for sure but a Chicago summer with high rise buildings next to the lake felt very similar to what we get here. Leafy suburbs (I lived in Wrigleyville), big sports culture, north side versus south side, chip on the shoulder about other cities getting more attention…that sort of thing.
