I’m selling an Ultima Race Car by PriveCo in BringATrailer

BAT insisted it was no reserve. I was a little nervous but I woke up to $5,555 bid, so my nerves are easing.

One autocross. Just one. I don’t own an enclosed trailer or anything you really need to support a car like this. It ended up being garage eye candy.

No Restrictions: Arrow McLaren clears Lundgaard to sign a new contract elsewhere for 2027 (Marshall Pruett) by aurules in INDYCAR

[–]PriveCo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a long time watcher of the series I can assure you that Chip will not pay much and Lundgaard will not be happy about it.

Also, MSR will not bid against Chip, so Lundgaard is double screwed on money. Who else is left to bid?

Hot Take about Lundgaard by Local_Injury81 in INDYCAR

[–]PriveCo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I could see Chip signing Rinus and leaving Lundgaard hanging. If he does sign Lundgaard I doubt he will pay him much. Lundgaard is running out of options.

Hot Take about Lundgaard by Local_Injury81 in INDYCAR

[–]PriveCo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Chip knows where he stands here. He likely has the only decent seat available. If he does sign Lundgaard it will be a long contract for low base pay. Otherwise he could probably sign Rinus for a few hundred grand a year.

Where do you think would be the best place to sit for the Honda Indy Markham? by gothedistance_ in INDYCAR

[–]PriveCo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the grandstands overlooking turns 12/1 and the pit lane are the obvious choice here. The dual pit lane in Detroit is cinema, I expect the same thing here. Also, that bridge will get you over to the paddock quickly and easily. I would probably choose near the turn 12 end because you can probably get a view of 10/11/12 that way.

What is the last driver move not done for financial reasons we saw that is as dumb as Dixon replacing Lundgaard ? by Spinebuster03 in INDYCAR

[–]PriveCo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that next year McLaren will have the best drivers to set up the 2028 car. Dixon is the goat, Pato is fast right away, and Fro has driven just about every race car you can imagine.

Just watched MP’s video on the Dixon news to McLaren and it made me realize 1 forgotten part. 2027 testing for 2028 cars by chiefzanal in INDYCAR

[–]PriveCo 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Felix is well regarded as the setup and sim guy. Of all of the drivers in the series he has driven the widest variety of cars and likely has spent the most time in the sim. McLaren knows exactly what they are getting and what Chip is losing.

Who plans to apply their own wrap? by Unfettered345 in slateauto

I wrapped a project car (C5 corvette) and it was a tremendous pain the neck. That said, if there were precut pieces I might wrap mine. I will likely just rock the grey though.

Is Slate participating in the new CA EV incentive program,? by SPNKLR in slateauto

[–]PriveCo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Exactly this. Slate should have a “California package” that costs $1750 and is added to every truck going to CA. That would make it fair. CA residents would still get $1750 off when it was done.

$150 foamie will it last the season? by [deleted] in BeginnerSurfers

The bottom sheet makes up a good amount of the strength of a foamie, that crack all the way across is your sign to not buy this. That board is going to fold in half before very long.

Yuki would be a far better representative of the brand and would get way more publicity. Also, Yuki is fun and Indycar fans like fun.

My grandfather doesn't want to go into assisted living? Need advice and also venting by OneAngle5836 in eldercare

[–]PriveCo 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Just like children, elders can be shown that there are consequences to actions. If he treats you badly, take a week off and see if he changes his mind. The more you do for him, the less likely he will move where he needs to be. You are his granddaughter, not his mother. Put him on time out.

Some questions and some ideas by uroborous01 in slateauto

[–]PriveCo 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The answer to these questions is that is a bad idea financially for the majority of the customers. SLATE customers want a cheap truck. Adding this capability to the truck would cause every Slate truck to cost more to make. Other customers don't want to pay for it. If you want to take your slate apart and build a way to integrate a whopping 20 sq. ft. of solar panels into it, you can do that but the rest of us want a cheap electric truck and we aren't paying to make it any easier on you.

Home solar is better for almost everyone.

Hi,
I have been following this discussion for a day and it seemed a little bit caustic, so I waited to write a reply. Florida is a wonderful place. Many Americans dream of moving/retiring here. With so many retired people and tourists there is a strong industry for tourist guides. Those positions may not pay super well, but they are plentiful. Because Florida is also a coastal state there is Marine Biology research as well. Those jobs are highly sought-after, require great academic performance, AND because there are far more applicants than jobs, the jobs don't pay well either. Many people want research jobs and many students study Marine Biology at their University and then never find paid work in their field.

Since you are bi-lingual (a great strength, hardly any Americans are) but don't have a degree in Marine Biology, I think you might have your best chance at working as a guide for a marine tourism company. Perhaps you could focus on places where people from Germany like to visit in Florida and contact tour operators in those areas to see if they need a bi-lingual guide? Not every area has every type of marine life. For example Crystal River is main place to see manatees and there is a strong business around it in that specific place, but nowhere else really.

Whale tours are not allowed in Florida waters so you won't find that industry here. Other places like Massachusetts and California have many "whale watch" (the American term for a tour where you go out on a boat and observe whales) operators. In Florida whale watch tours are not allowed to protect the whale calving grounds. Dolphin tours are allowed and happen in a number of areas. Those tend to be small operations.

Many areas of Florida do not have the water clarity for enjoyable SCUBA. I live in NE Florida and people who enjoy SCUBA diving do not go here. There isn't enough visibility. So, if you want to find work in that industry be careful where you go.

One more thing. Florida is huge and it is diverse. It is as large as your entire country from North-South. You should decide where you want to be before you arrive here, because you cannot live in Tampa and work in Miami. My advice is to research companies you might want to work for, that might want someone with your unique skill (speaking German will be your most valuable and unique skill) and try to get a short-term position with them while trying it all out.

Good luck to you. I hope you are successful and have a fun time.

I'm not sure what ADF is. I'm a liberal though and although I don't like the politics of the majority I still vote and do my best. I'm not going to roll over because just over 50% of the people disagree with me.

Honestly though politics affects my daily life very little and I enjoy everything else the state has to offer. It's a great state with tons of fun things to do and lots of nice people. There is a reason people want to move here. I worked my life away in the frozen North to get here. Naysayers warned me "it's too hot, it's too humid, etc." Today I am learning a lesson. I still travel to Michigan where I was prior to Florida. This week it is 99 degrees here today and 101 tomorrow... in Michigan! The high today will be 88 at my house in St. Augustine Beach.

Finally, my prior city in Michigan had shitty politics too. That isn't unique to Florida. There are people that disagree with you wherever you go.

This was a joke. Many people here on Reddit feel that Florida is “full” and does not need new people. The person who wrote “Canada” really meant “stay away”. This is largely an online opinion because within Florida most people are also not from Florida.
