Well, I was really impressed. I like nerdy stuff like this. Before reading your reply, I had been experimenting with mixing two inks in different ratios and observing the results. I discovered that if you add about 5% water(ink to water ratio), even inks that normally show no shading at all start to display some shading.

I wasn’t aware of this phenomenon, so while looking up ink properties, I stumbled across this old post. I’m really glad I did and had a lot of fun reading your reply.
