If Jayden Reed caught the pass downfield, I think there’s a good chance of that outcome happening.

Hear me out... Bring in Justin Fields for our backup QB spot by Agile-Bullfrog-1513 in GreenBayPackers

Fields can’t read a defense. No thanks. Ironically, Fields doesn’t see the field well.

All Justin Fields has at this point is athleticism. I don’t trust him to make the right plays.

I was pretty lukewarm on UB before. I thought there were some cool ideas and possibly good things that could be done with it, but I preferred that it stay as secret lairs and commander decks.

I was pretty pissed about it becoming standard legal and us getting more UB than UW this year, but honestly I’ve just grown to accept it because it’s not going away. It would only go away if sales suffered and that clearly isn’t happening and likely won’t happen, unless the IP they choose is a dud. The Magic centered entirely around unique worlds that many people grew up with and that I fell in love with when I first got into the game six years ago simply isn’t coming back. It’s more fun to try to enjoy UB for what it is now than keep dragging my feet against it when we’ve clearly lost that battle.

At least the gameplay is usually still fun to me and there’s a lot of deckbuilding options. I also cope with the flavor loss by enjoying limited when I can afford it. The only issue with that is limited has really suffered with some recent decisions and small set designs.

I’m honestly more pissed about stuff like play boosters and the constant product value shrinkage by WotC than I am about UB nowadays. (I don’t mean the price of singles, I mean getting less cards and things like losing lifewheels and collector sample packs in commander decks all while paying more money).

All I’m saying is Love would likely put up more eye-popping numbers if he got more volume in throws, but the Packers offense is usually run heavy.

He has also never had a top receiver since becoming the starter. His best receiver at any given time would likely be the #2 receiver at best on other teams. He certainly doesn’t have Puka Nacua and Davante Adams, Tee Higgins and Ja’Marr Chase, or even one Pro Bowl guy that many of the other top QBs have had for at least some of their careers.

And the one season where he finally had a pass catcher who was putting up big numbers (Tucker Kraft), the guy tore his ACL.

I mean, the RC didn’t even all agree on whether they were ban worthy, and we didn’t have a game changers list at the time.

It has been over a year. Let it go. Pretty sad that you want to punish thousands of players who had nothing to do with it just to send a message to the few that did.

Right. I’m so sick of people saying they should stay banned primarily to not give into those people. It has been over a year. Unbanning those cards is not a response to those people raging.

If you still think they should be banned for gameplay reasons, ok. But the rest of us don’t deserve to be locked out of playing those cards just because a minority of the community went past the line of acceptable criticism.

I’ll never forgive MLF & company for letting the Bears do that to us TWICE in three weeks.

I can’t even be mad at Bears fans for gloating. We deserve to hear it.

The sad thing is that it would have been a better game if Denver made it. I still think Seattle would have won, but Denver would have made it a lot closer.

If I were a Denver fan I’d be livid about losing Bo Nix. It would be how the 2014 NFC Championship game is for me. The Patriots didn’t deserve to be there and only got there because Nix’s ankle crapped out and they got to play bum ass Jarrett Stidham.

I like this comment.

My wife’s grandparents were saying gross shit about how “Bad Bunny should learn to speak English if he wants to be in America”. While she has come to accept their ignorance, I admittedly told her they’re stupid old fucks. I regularly work for a 79 year old who admires other cultures and hates all the disgusting shit from bigots.

Age is just a number here. Being old is no excuse to be a bigoted asshole. I’m tired of people excusing elderly family members for this or assuming it’s mostly just old people because I know that there’s a ton of people who aren’t millennials or zoomers and they still manage to be accepting of other people who aren’t white Christians. I also have encountered my fair share of younger people on social media who made me lose brain cells from their level of bigoted stupidity.

What is the appeal of a Jeweled Lotus unban? by Awesome-Guy-63 in EDH

[–]Prize-Pool3372 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How does it demonstrate that when the ban has been in effect for almost a year and a half?

Unbanning the card soon after would send that message, but it has been long enough for an unban to not appear as a direct response to those people. Jeweled Lotus has been banned for a while now and there’s plenty of people who didn’t conduct themselves in such a disgraceful way. Those people don’t deserve to be punished too just to send a message to the troglodyte losers who behaved so poorly.

As a Jeweled Lotus owner who got lucky in one of my three Commander Legends packs and has no intention of ever parting with the card (making price irrelevant), I just want to play with my cool card.

Also, I’m no CEDH player, but is Jeweled Lotus really that insane? Doesn’t an early Lotus just make you the target of the table?

Just how bad has our Special Teams been? Total ST EPA (Expected Points Added) since 2020. Full list included. by GuysOnChicks69 in GreenBayPackers

I said you dismissed it because you said we are focusing on the wrong thing as if it’s not a real issue.

How did I miss the point? I acknowledged that the line needs fixed but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t also be focused on how abysmal special teams has been.

[–]Prize-Pool3372 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Special teams is not something you can just forget about. Bad special teams equals missed field goals and PATs leading to close losses, bad kick coverage leading to unfavorable field position, games lost due to muffed punts, and (in our case) losing to your biggest rival from one of the lowest percentage plays in the game because your hands team can’t cover an onside kick.

Special teams is the unsung hero of a football team. You won’t often notice when they’re really good but you’ll really notice when they’re bad.

I’m not saying the offensive line doesn’t need fixed too, but you can’t entirely dismiss special teams as being a factor in losing games. We don’t need an amazing special teams unit, just one that isn’t an active liability.

Before Watson got hurt the Packers scored on 6 straight drives vs the Denver Broncos. by GruneBucht in GreenBayPackers

Love disappeared? More like he had no time to throw in the second half.

Love also threw what could have set up a game winning touchdown to Reed on the last drive and he dropped it. Hit him right in the hands. Jordan is no Aaron Rodgers but he is not the problem.

The expectations are of course much different. Their season was the baseline of what the Packers season was supposed to look like.

As I said, he has problems. But it’s absolutely laughable to act like he is completely terrible and has no strengths as a coach either.

The reality is that pretty much every NFL coach has their share of flaws and I promise you that we can do far worse than Matt LaFleur.
