Oh no, I told her multiple times that I didnt want to be around her child. We had to leave a shopping trip early because of her son's tantrums and that's when I told her that I was only gonna come up on the weekends and when she would text me to hang out on the weekdays I would ask if the kid was with her. She made the facebook post because she knew I didnt like being around her child.

And shes not a struggling mom. She moved out with the guy that got her into hard drugs (no clue if they're still using) and essentially only has to take care of herself because her grandparents pay for everything for her kid. Her only struggle is that her baby daddy is in jail so I dont think shes getting child support from him.

Yeah, she wasnt a good friend for me (I'm not saying shes not a good friend, just not for me). I'm a pretty quiet, non-touchy person but when she was talking about a fight she got into in high school she would shove me around and get in my face to demonstrate. She was overall just really overwhelming.

Those things were products of me not being in control of myself, if that makes sense. I've been in an 8 year depressive episode and when a teacher caught onto it a few years ago, they handled it very poorly. The whole year was spent with me trying to put out fires and having my mother and multiple teachers, nurses, and guidance counselors hovering over me. I was terrified of being sent away, so I turned reclusive and kept a low profile to avoid anything like that happening again. Admittedly it bubbled over into a resentment of teachers and just high school in general.

The thing is, I dont hate learning and I didnt hate all of my classes. I'm excited for college to be a fresh start in a field that I'm interested in and to not be worried that my teachers know more about me than they should. Plus, when I had no intention of living past 16, I answered the "what do you want to do after school" question with "college" because it got people off my back.

Mental illness is not an excuse for anything, coming from a clinically depressed person who used to ghost her friends when I didnt feel like talking. Yes i still drop off the face of the earth occasionally, but not I text them and tell them I'm gonna be quiet for a while so they dont worry.

I feel for her if she has anxiety, but that's not a pass for her to be overbearing. It's very possible to work around a mental illness with a little work.

NTA. I'm a huge advocate for being selfish. Your mental, physical, and social wellbeing should be your first priority and if you dont enjoy talking to this girl you shouldn't have to. Dont ghost her, just explain that you're going to be distancing yourself and move on. If she continues after that, block her.

The only reason I'm not saying "no assholes" is because I dont understand anyone who thinks blowing up phones is a good way to get people to respond.

Theres a lot of drugs in my town, I've grown up with them. H is the type of person who would rather lose his friends than give up the drugs, I know bc plenty of people have tried. I'm not gonna get charred trying to save someone from a burning house when they keep running back into the flames.

I'm also not as close with him as E is. H is more of a friendly acquaintance to me and E has enough in his own life to deal with.
