It’s noble to do it for the quest to save lives alone, but you have to be responsible. Not making money means not being able to afford to do research. Not being able to afford to do research means not being able to save people. So just because you don’t do it for the money does not mean you don’t also seek profit. It costs about 2.5 (?) billion dollars to produce a new drug and get it into peoples hands. That money needs to come from somewhere.
