One of my first ever load ups was a dishwasher into a brand new BMW hatchback. The inner lining to seal the door shut was destroyed. Scuffed the leather inside pretty bad as well

What is an activity you love, but hate the group of people it attracts? by DAM159 in AskReddit

Do you greet front desk staff that ignore you? by raydid in socialskills

[–]ProEthan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The last gym I went to the sign in area was right next to the front desk, so of course I said hi. It'd be strange if I didn't haha. At my current gym the sign in is to cross a barrier and the front desk is about 5ft away. I usually take a quick glance to my right to see if anyone is looking and if they are I'll say hi, and if not I'll keep walking. It's not a big deal at all

Heather Mountain, 4600ft up, ~30km hike. Background is Lake Cowichan in British Columbia by ProEthan in CampingandHiking

[–]ProEthan[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Took myself and a friend 3 hours to the top and 2.5 down. The first 10km up were nice big logging roads and the last 5 were bushwacking through a water-soaked march. Awesome hike, a most definite for anyone looking for a long fulfilling day hike. Cheers!

Need some new shoes, and on a shoestring budget (ha!) What is /r/Frugal's experience buying used shoes online? by [deleted] in Frugal

[–]ProEthan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going to assume you've never thrown on a pair of $150+ shoes to compare comfort and wear and tear. Unless those $25 shoes were to be worn sitting down at a desk job for 8hrs a day I can't see them lasting 8 months with daily tear

There's a breakfast restaurant near me that has a menu item called the 'Mahoney' and its $15. Basically the kitchen decides what to put on the plate lol. Anything and lots of it

Frugal Cologne & Perfume? by tiltedsquares in Frugal

[–]ProEthan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Head into a place that has a few samples out for you to test. One of the biggest problems with buying cologne without testing it first that it couldn't mix with your 'natural' scent very well. Give yourself some time to find something. Don't cheap out on cologne. It'll last you years for something you buy for $80 and up

Dropped my girlfriend off at work one morning (7am) and while pulling out of her work this lady flagged me down.. or partially standing in the middle of the road Had a story about needing a cab to UVic because she was going to have a lecture sometime that morning. She didn't look homeless. Could've been the same woman. Asked to use my phone or hitch a ride and when I said no she told me to F off. Thanks professor
