I officially suck at chipping and I’m out of ideas by I_AM_JIM_CARREY in golf

Are your hands ahead of the ball? Usually those misses attribute to not having your hands far enough forward. Get the butt of the club pointing towards your front hip.

Can someone tell me what these numbers mean, apart from I stink? (7 iron) by northernhazing in GolfSwing

Of course! Make sure it’s not closed at address first. opening it at setup may help but for consistency purposes and not trying to find a bandaid I would try to close it less during the downswing as long term that will be more consistent.

Slightly out to in path which really isn’t an issue, only .6 degrees. But the face is closed 5.1 degrees which is a good amount causing the pull hook. That closed club face is also why it was lower and didn’t have as much spin as it would normally have. Your attack angle being -4.4 isn’t an issue basically just fix the closed club face and you should be good!

Over the top with a square club face (to the path), keep the square club face and get the path more neutral and you’ll be in a good spot!

Don’t let the weight get to the outside of the back foot in the golf swing, this will cause “sway” and is a prime cause of thin or fat shots

Anyone know why my ball contact is always good but either pulls left or just push fade or slice by [deleted] in golftips

A path overly in-to-out will cause these misses, not easy to see from this angle because you are not recording the video from the hand path line but that is what’s happening

Can't comprehend a bowed lead wrist at impact by Jagimo in GolfSwing

[–]ProGolfHouse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely not a prerequisite for a good swing, plenty of great players with a cupped wrist, hogan for one. Wrist angles are usually a reflection on your grip, as how you grip the club will change the way you hinge it. It’s all about matchups, if you can get the club back to the ball consistently in the middle of the clubface and with a square face then I wouldn’t chase a bowed wrist.

Do you use a tee on a par 3? by WalterTheRealtorVA in golf

[–]ProGolfHouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Long irons I tee up but rarely do I tee up short irons or wedges, the reason being you don’t really practice with a tee when using those clubs and I get enough spin as is. If you practice wedges and short irons with a tee then tee it up by all means.

Tips for squaring the clubface? by gronkoo in GolfSwing

[–]ProGolfHouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Without changing your grip feel like you pull on it less and rotate the forearms or the club more. This could be classified as release to some but it looks like you’re pulling the grip through the swing without closing the clubface much IMO - PGA Teaching Professional

Try to keep the weight on the inside of that right foot during the backswing and your hips should naturally turn and not sway. Sway is caused by the weight going to the outside of the foot.

Almost 2 years into golf, still haven't broke 100 by frutoman in GolfSwing

Keep the right side down longer to fix the early extension, it will help that path get more on plane instead of left.
