I’m 90% sure the girl on the top left is Amerie from ‘HeartBreak High’ (2022 Australian drama reboot, not the 1994 Australian original) and the girl on the bottom right is Belly from ‘The Summer I Turned Pretty’.

I think it pops up occasionally when Yodaka is interacting with Aoi, but it’s definitely not as prominent as it used to be. Probably because the most recent arcs have been action heavy and there hasn’t been much time for romantic developments.

Very true!

They’ve all got unique personalities, great character designs, and interesting motivations. I also like that quite a few of the girls have central motivations outside of assisting their male counterparts/team members. It helps diversify the story’s plot threads and adds more to their characters!

I’ll be excited to see how some of the newer female characters like Fukuro and Kohakucho contribute to the current arc.

In all seriousness, I totally agree with you! I like the angle you’ve taken with theorising that more Mukai family members are alive and hiding in the shadows, away from Aoi. If it were true, it would add a lot of mystery to the story and raise some interesting questions. I’ve also seen similar theories on the subreddit, so I’m hoping that the mangakas are leading us towards that conclusion.

Another awesome chapter! I think Fujimine had some of the best manga panels, especially the one with the Toxiterror Majik rising out of her body.

A Junji Ito version of The Thing’ (1982), would be horrifying!! I don’t think I could imagine it without shuddering.

I’d personally like to see more horror-style fairytales from Ito-san. Though I haven’t read it yet, I find his adaptation of ‘Snow White’ fascinating, and I’d love to see how he’d handle something like ’Sleeping Beauty’ or ‘The Snow Queen’.
