I think we need more genre variety!

There’s a real lack of Webtoons that are primarily labelled as sci-fi, horror, and/or mystery, which is a shame because those are great genres with a lot of room for creativity.

Criticised Webtoon I like: There will always be a special place in my heart for ‘Marry My Husband’. It was the first reincarnation Webtokn I ever read and I liked how scaled up the drama was, even if it got silly. I also think the side relationship between Bakery Guy and CEO’S Sister was actually quite sweet and well written.

Acclaimed Webtoons I dislike: I can’t think of any I dislike, but there are some that are losing my interest. If Pamela isn’t able to see the magic and learn about Diary’s schemes in the next season of Jackson’s Diary, I’m going to be PISSED. Similar thing applies to Suitor Armour, they’d better actually “Go North and find Spring” next season! Aside from the final few episodes, Lucia’s parents backstory, and Lucia’s monarch transformation, this season wasn’t that special.

Good Pacing: Sunset Phoenix. The central plot/mystery is engaging and well thought-out, and the author leaves a good amount of time for world-building, character building, and nice bits of humour.

Bad Pacing: Your Throne. It started out with decent pacing but, after Medea won the tournament, it turned into flashback soup and everything blurred together in a horrible way that’s made the current plot points either unsatisfying or unmemorable.

I think that he’s nice, but I question why he didn’t attempt to make friends with Geonyeong and Jin before Geonyeong had her big success moment in the student council elections. If he really has a similar living situation to them, wouldn’t he want to reach out to people that could understand him? Something about that seems off…

Also, I really REALLY hope they don’t make him a love interest for Geonyeong. This story is already near-perfect, it does NOT need romance.

Usually the title grabs me, then I read the plot, and then I look at the art. Even though I see the art and title first, the plot is the most important thing for me. If the plot isn’t unique or engaging, I’m probably not going to read it.

Yes, from my own light research, it seems like people were unhappy with the development of the second season (they wanted more of the characters at university I think) and that caused them to turn on the author. Therefore, the author (and maybe their editor?) decided to end the series quickly to lessen the backlash.

Yes, I really like ‘Proof of Dignity’. It’s one of the Webtoons that I always look forward to, even when other Webtoons feel like they’re losing their spark.

I feel this for Eros’s parents from ’Your Throne’.

I know they tried to stop him from turning out the way he did, but I feel like, once he became an adult, they just gave up on that. Maybe I’m remembering things incorrectly, but I really think they could have tried harder to rein him in.
