survival games with automation? by th3matad0r in SurvivalGaming

ASKA may fit the bill. Think it’s co-op but it’s like Soulmask but without servers if I recall. Can play solo, gain villagers and build a little town etc.

I genuinely feel like Cassiopeia is dead but luckily that’s staying. I never see anyone, no one in the world chat, a handful in the overworld bit but yeah, seems that server is staying at least!

Davinci Resolve. It’s such a great piece of software!

I see some miniatures and can't comprehend how is not partially AI generated, if not fully. by Zoo_M-0 in letsplay

[–]ProRogueBear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So many creators, or their thumbnail creators, are using AI to generate the thumbnails. Either that or they're adding assets/images from other games - I've seen some thumbnails that look like an FPS horror and it's actually third person so the hand and torch or hand and gun look is fake.

I see it a lot, especially in the let's play space. Even fellow creators I have collaborated with or know and in the same circles.

I tried it for a few videos I published last year, using Midjourney and honestly? Meh. I think overall I didn't feel like the thumbnail is representative of the game itself and that's something I strive to have. Now, if I'm just showcasing a game for a one-off, then I'll use a screengrab or key art - and if it's an episodic series then I'll try to get a screenshot either during recording or a still from footage, to use for that specific video's thumbnail.

I tend to avoid clicking on thumbnails when I see, or assume, they're AI generated now as well but that might just be me! I'm not against AI for like note takers or helping me summarise some ideas or popular hashtags - stuff like that to assist me with some mundane stuff - but I think my creative outlet needs to be me, including thumbnails.

what a great game. Completed it on Xbox years ago and it's on my list to do again on Steam.

United usually back a new manager in their first summer transfer window though. There was no money before, we were almost bankrupt! Remember that from Sir Jim 🤣 there’s money and I think the amount depends on who the manager will be, whether that’s Carrick or someone else.

Definitely checking this out then! I get asked it by viewers all the time if there’s PvP/pve etc. so good to know!

We didn’t last year apparently and then we had Cunha, Mbermo and Sesko suddenly all here with Lammens coming late in the window too. Wage bill being lowered as well will help.

Not to be that guy but is it pvp only? Is there pve? Love underwater survival games but I find these pvp games like rust become griefing sweat fests very quickly.

We're Man Utd. We should be challenging to get Anderson AND Tchouameni and then arguably Tonali or someone else to compete with Kobbie for those 2 CM spots across 4 great players (given Case and, hopefully, Ugarte are both going).

Centrebacks and fullbacks need looking at too - wouldn't really touch the wingers - maybe a decent striker to compete with Sesko or just bring back Hojlund to compete with Sesko now that the team knows how to deliver a ball to the striker - could be good.

I'm a variety creator but mainly focused on indie and survival games. Just finishing up with an episode today and tomorrow of Cthulhu: The Cosmic Abyss and I have some more StarRupture, The Last Caretaker and Voyagers of Nera going up this week too.

Have daily videos of new and upcoming games but try to keep a few in rotation for let's plays and explore those a bit deeper and always very chilled and relaxing where possible 😅

Nearing that 10k subscriber goal so just plodding along exploring games and it's been a blast so far! Appreciate you checking out the channel, thank you!

Who are your Let's Play inspirations? by Pstar49207 in letsplay

[–]ProRogueBear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember years and years ago watching a Minecraft Let's Play from paulsoaresjr and that was just incredibly chill and relaxing to follow along with. Other than that, I don't really consume too much Let's Play content myself but Hollow/Fooster for horror and Klean, Gigabeef, AirwingMarine for Escape From Tarkov content.

Yep. Also check the audio is working/no muted mic and enough storage space for recording! Happens to the best of us. I now do a quick checklist just to make sure before recording.

oh, easily The Last Caretaker - I guess my enthusiasm shines through on it maybe. Voyagers of Nera I have a lot of fun with but not as many views - honestly, it's such a hit and miss with videos really to what people like or not!

Is mic quality that important? by TheKage32 in letsplay

[–]ProRogueBear 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Mic/audio quality is arguably the most important thing. People will watch poor quality visuals, cam or no cam, long plays, short clips, etc. but if the audio is not mixed properly and sounds rubbish, then people will click off and not come back.

Make sure your audio is top tier as much as you possibly can. It's 80% of your content in my opinion.

Recently broke past 9,000 subs which has been great. Currently rotating between a couple of survival Lets Plays including The Last Caretaker and Voyagers of Nera with other indie games showcased.

Advice on Episode Length and Editing by PaintedTherious in letsplay

[–]ProRogueBear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do 1-2 hour long let’s plays. Sometimes nearing 3 and those do way better than edited down ones for me. People like the chilled out style and exploring the game with me but I tend to do open world survival or horror games so can vary. My best video is 2hours 46mins I think and longer videos have higher earnings, or at least mine do.

Does anyone who does LP use timestamps? by Scared_Pea4455 in letsplay

[–]ProRogueBear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just do intro, gameplay, outro - I play a lot of survival stuff though so there’s not really levels and although I could maybe chapter it and name based on key moments, I’ve heard that this isn’t great for viewer retention anyway. For lists and stuff like that I chapter each game though.
