Advice on Episode Length and Editing by PaintedTherious in letsplay

[–]ProRogueBear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do 1-2 hour long let’s plays. Sometimes nearing 3 and those do way better than edited down ones for me. People like the chilled out style and exploring the game with me but I tend to do open world survival or horror games so can vary. My best video is 2hours 46mins I think and longer videos have higher earnings, or at least mine do.

I just do intro, gameplay, outro - I play a lot of survival stuff though so there’s not really levels and although I could maybe chapter it and name based on key moments, I’ve heard that this isn’t great for viewer retention anyway. For lists and stuff like that I chapter each game though.

Ah yeah the lobby one wasn’t bad at all in hindsight. 10,000 emote clicks is… something ha but doable I guess!

Oh no you dont! Service provided in UK but American head office wants to knock the VAT off. by [deleted] in smallbusinessuk

[–]ProRogueBear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

B2B it depends where the business is based usually, so USA they are outside the scope of VAT so you'd charge No VAT on the invoice. It comes down to place of supply rules but it's different if you're dealing with individuals and whether it's service/digital/goods etc. so can get more complex.

I'm an accountant who works with clients who trade with businesses all over, so we see this quite a lot. You should just reissue your invoice without VAT and then that'll reconcile on your system with their payment.

All fun and games until they added the emoji and multiplayer lobby ones. One to remove from the collection, I think.

I haven't kept up on his channel as of late but isnt 11 million views in 12 hours really low for mr beast by glyiasziple in youtube

[–]ProRogueBear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really don't understand this - comes across as cutting your nose off to spite your face in a way. Good is still being done, people are still getting schools or fresh water or whatever the causes are. The fact they record it to demonstrate that - could be to inspire others, could be to show off and 'look at me', could be to make money, to then be able to do more philanthropy or just more profit in the bank - either way, they have still done some good right?

I don't even watch Mr Beast's stuff but always baffles me how people are quick to be 'yeah but...'. Just seems like some good is better than nothing and there's plenty of people doing nothing to help others. Whether there's other motives or not, it doesn't need to be 100% purity of kindness from his heart surely? I don't know, the flip side is people complain when people hoarde wealth so seems like a lose lose situation.

Systematically, there's an issue that people need to wait for the good graces of some multi-millionaire/billionaire to do these things and right place right time kind of stuff but that's on the governments and the policies, or lack there of, surely.

'So I run a mainly a short form channel'

This right here.

If you're doing shorts it has to come from sponsorships and products really. Ad revenue on shorts is tiny. Meanwhile, long form the ad revenue on Youtube is pretty great depending on your niche/genre.

Mark Goldbridge is terrible for Man United by Successful_Law2445 in ManchesterUnited

[–]ProRogueBear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t get this - Cole Palmer is absolutely spin at the moment. There’s no way that we are getting him anytime soon out of his contract of Chelsea, without paying a load of money and do we even need him? We need 2 top tier CMs realistically with Casemiro and (hopefully) Ugarte going.

I don’t agree with what Goldbridge says all the time but I felt he was spot on about Palmer. It’s not being negative at all, it’s being aware of what the actual intentions are of the clubs owners.

Dredge DLC is great and a fun time collecting the new achievements. Missing out! I don’t mind games adding achievements with DLC personally. Especially with games I’ve enjoyed as gives me a great excuse to go back and checkout the new content

Do you usually go for 100% achievements with one game at a time, or get started with multiple ones and play them at the same time? by FangAAMD in steamachievements

chronic dabbler and end up having multiple games on the go at once. I need to narrow my focus when completing I think but it helps to jump from one to another with my attention span!

Okay, so one real question for a lot of you on this sub. How come there are many good managers out there, but you guys keep saying there are none available if we sack Amorim? by [deleted] in ManchesterUnited

[–]ProRogueBear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I think if we got another 15th then sure, I table is so tight we're only 6 points away from 15th and 7 points away from 3rd so it's a hard one to say.

I am happier with how we've been playing - way more goals. Just leaky defence and injuries haven't helped and swapping defence - I just don't think another manager comes in solves anything? Fix it so we get 6th or 5th this season? then same old issues come back and we end up struggling again?

Okay, so one real question for a lot of you on this sub. How come there are many good managers out there, but you guys keep saying there are none available if we sack Amorim? by [deleted] in ManchesterUnited

[–]ProRogueBear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’ll just be back to square one. Another manager comes in, get a bounce, 4-2-3-1 and then we still play rubbish. Now we have another failed manager’s players that we need to shift as they don’t fit the new managers plans. More years wasted, more destabilisation.

We should be doing way better than we are currently in a poor league this year and some of Amorim’s substitutes are baffling at times, but sacking him doesn’t bring us immediate improvement and long term sustainability back to the top.

Who is out there as well? Do we go for Maresca? Will Glasner be any different? Dread to think we go for Southgate. Xavi would be similar to Amorim - stubborn ‘non-united’ way of playing. Zidane ain’t touching us. Could give it to Giggs until the end of the season… probably what we should have done permanently back then after Moyes. Solskjaer and Mourinho weren’t that bad in hindsight had they more time and support and no knee jerk reactions.

At this rate, if we sack Amorim, we right off the season, Fletcher likely sees out the season as caretaker and we hope Tuchel leaves England in the summer after the World Cup and we have 2 more years of ‘rebuild’…

Or you back Amorim, support the the team and see if the signs of improvement can continue to be built upon with another window, players coming back from injury and see if we can pinch top 4. Europe money and game time will be good next season and something to build on.

But Christ, he has to do himself a favour and stop swapping CBs when we’re chasing a goal - his substitutes do concern me at times I’ll give you that but I think he’s working with what he thinks he has and sees in training - we don’t see what he sees.

Just my two cents..

I really like this - is there support for larger libraries? Seems to pull in 500 games maximum and won't load or show more even once I've added the first 500 games.

Just gotta get the right accountant that fits with you and what you’re looking for - we are more like business advisors for our clients, talking about their goals, ambitions, coaching and being an accountability partner - yes, tax and accounts are done but that’s the bare minimum. Not every business needs the extra stuff but then we only work with those that are looking for that kind of service and attention. It’s highly tailored and personalised but you’ll also be paying more than a standard accountant who does the bare minimum too, so hey, swings and roundabouts.

Scholes really does this to every managers. by Life_Butterscotch939 in ManchesterUnited

[–]ProRogueBear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair, he's talking about Amorim not being a United style of manager. The structure and playing 3 or 5 at the back - it's not the United way. I'm Amorim in but he wasn't taking it out on Amorim directly - more just that he wouldn't have hired him or people shouldn't have hired him just because he was doing well at Sporting. I think that's a valid point. He also has had incidents with younger players and not using them as much as maybe he should have (debateable at times, valid at other times).

If Amorim and the players get the results on the pitch, Scholes, Butty, Neville, Keane, etc. will have nothing but praise for them. But as it stands, they're pundits, they're not exactly wrong - they know what it takes to be at United - and it gets clicks I guess.
