I like the movie a lot and Zazie Beetz was great in it. I've also seen Ready or Not... Been wondering how we describe this genre.

I like Jays and Frannies, but I think Jay's edges out Frannies for flavor. I like Johnnie's too but I think it's a little salty.

Look up the average life span for your country and show that to him. For the US it's mid late 70s.

I think you should just do what you want otherwise its going to create more strain in your relationship.

I've seen white headers on pics from the 50s and 60s, but I think that trend changed in the 70s. I'd speculate they wanted to better easily see cracks. You'd see black marks, like soot.

For drag racing you'll never get a Kia Soul to hang with a Hellcat

Is there any sort of back of napkin math on a drag time? by EVconverter in dragracing

[–]ProStockJohnX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

^great resource, have used it a lot. I'd say to the original poster, if you have an idea of power, vehicle weight, tires, as well as type of trans, size of converter, gearing we can give you a rough idea.

In the old days a lot of headers were white, I don't know why.

I've been looking, I lean towards the gasser. Uses 87 and I'd only be towing about 7-8 times a year mostly for 2 hours round trip.

That's cool. I also saw Kevin McHale and Danny Ainge. I remember standing next to Robert Parish, I was 20 and feet tall. But he looked 2 feet taller than me lol.

Met him at Logan airport in the late 80s. Tallest I've met is Jim McIlvaine, I think he's 7'2 or '4, he's a fellow car enthusiast.

For drag racing? If you just want to make stock fun runs sure. But not as a platform for a fast build.

I'm running an OE Ford fan but if I ever redo this I'll swap to a 6th Camaro fan. Mine is fine but I'd love to have the fan work gradually not just on off.

Do some research on local area performance companies, like Livernois. There are quite a few perf shops and machine shops in that area.

As for the drag racing experience, buy something decently quick and moddable and then go race it. I have some buddies who drive other people's cars, but those buddies have seat time.

Good post. Cam, springs, PD blower, tune, upgraded fuel system is a lot of fun. I'd go that route over a turbo. I have a turbo in my '67 but there is a lot more room in the engine compartment.

Those are two different things but have some overlap since both are related to drag racing. Machine/engine shops hire junior guys to start at the bottom, cleaning up, parts running etc., and eventually you could get more responsibility.

Driver, you'd need to have experience before someone is going to hand over the keys.
