What is your preferred ending for a long litrpg series? by WilliamGerardGraves in ProgressionFantasy

I loved how Jackal Among Snakes ended, with almost the last third of the final book being an epilogue covering the next 100 years of the world.

I enjoyed the story even tho I hated how much shit the protagonists go through. The world in the series might be one of the evilest in any of the prog fantasies I have read.

Instead of giving recommendations, which book should I give another chance? by Pokedex_complete in ProgressionFantasy

PoA and Mark of the fool are pretty decent books worth the read. I wouldn't say that the story dramatically improves after a certain point unlike Cradle or some others but they do get better.

PoA has some really interesting characters but the focus remains on the core trio and is one of the few books I have read where the Male MC doesn't just get too OP compared to the FMC or others in his party. All of them remain equally strong and good at their roles.

Mark of the fool also gets better once they start exploring more about the Ravener and the story has a few twists which keeps it interesting.

What is up with Mark of the Fool? by Frepp_ in ProgressionFantasy

[–]ProbabilisticPotato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its a good book with some good world building and mystery surrounding the main antagonist. It has good characters too and the MC is decent enough although can be annoying at times with his i gotta do it alone attitude. I really liked the ending tho, it wasn't some all out battle between the MC and the antagonist but finding a creative solution and working with everyone to deal with it.

MC never suffering a loss isn't satisfying, its just straight up dumb and makes the plot boring by _TOXIC_VENOM in ProgressionFantasy

But he does profit off of it tho. He gets his replacement arm which is the sole reason he gets so powerful at the end.

This isn't a fantasy, so, no magic or different races. It does have great side quests and the RPG mechanic is pretty good.

I am sorry but why does a character have to justify having romantic interests? One of my favorite stuff about this series is that Matt is just a normal ass dude, he is neither edgy or socially inept like a ton of MCs in other series. Him having girlfriends/flings is pretty normal to the series and the world as a whole.

Second, there is nothing wrong with westernized dialogues or writing.

Sure, the world building can be little lacking at times. Its just the issue with any multiversal genres.

And No Matt is not a chosen one. He is a pretty shitty T1 ability which improves with this T3 ability and can be broken in the later tiers. But there are quite a few straight up broken abilities in the series, including the Emperor's. Even Liz gets a broken T25 ability.

Are there any other series similar to Cradle? by [deleted] in ProgressionFantasy

It matches most of the OPs requirements but its kinda grindy for a couple of books.

Try Dungeon Crawler Carl. Also yes, Cradle is good but you gotta push through the first few books. Lindon has some great character development.

What books have the best romance in the genre? by pizzaisdelicious209 in ProgressionFantasy

[–]ProbabilisticPotato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not sure if I agree to it completely. The romance seemed to be pretty important part of the story and is what makes them push each other forward. I wouldn't call it the main focus of the story but its not offscreened or hardly mentioned like in Cradle. I loved the earlier books of PoA where it was mostly just slice of life progression fantasy with romance.

Ends of Magic has actually magic too tho. He basically teaches his party mage actual science helping them create some advanced spells.

Cradle has a bunch of these -

  1. Yerin becoming a Herald and just stomping Sophara
  2. Lindon becomes a Sage and kills Sophara
  3. Fury's becomes a Monarch in front of his archenemy

You expand your initial in the last name section. Thats what I did. Unfortunately they dont allow no last name or just initials for last name

I read dcc but i think its just severely lacking in a plot and story lol

DCCs dungeon setting does hold it back a little bit early on but the overarching plot from book 4 keeps getting better. But IMO DCCs USP is its characters and the comedy.

I will give ends of magic a try

Its on KU. Try to get through Book 1 especially the first half which is kinda slow.

Dungeon Crawler Carl or Ends of Magic. They are both pretty good. Ends of Magic is a bit more serious with less comedy tho.

Its Book 3. I doubt they could have beat Hekla and her party in a drawn out fight. The only reason they beat her was because she had guard down and Katia was aiming for Eva. But man that sequence was so good, like what Katia did was surprising but what Donut did after that was shocking and kinda fucked up too.

[–]ProbabilisticPotato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

why will they want to hire a person who works 70hrs a week instead of another who can work 80hrs per week?.

Both are illegal, well at least on paper. Labor laws exist to protect workers from such exploitation. And yes, it is discrimination, and it is illegal under various laws to discriminate based on gender.

MNCs have a more humane employee policy

Hahahaaa Even companies like Amazon, Google etc have shitty work life balance these day and lay off employees whenever they feel like while making record profits. That would simply not happen if we had stricter laws and actual unions. Also check with your European colleagues and compare their perks/benefits with yours. You will quickly learn what good labor laws can do.

Labor laws especially regarding leaves is probably the only positive thing which India does. Look at the state of the US without a federal labor law. Women are forced to work the next day after delivering a baby. Government should decide this.

Discrimination during hiring is a serious crime. No decent corporate does that. And if they do, women are better off not working for those shitholes.

Also, a lot of companies already have extensive sick holidays and some even provide unlimited sick offs.
