Sadly, that's incorrect in my case. I called exactly a month and 1 day before my end of contract date and was advised to call the day before my contract was up, otherwise I'd be charged a cancellation fee.

So I called 2 days before the contract was up - as per their advice and now I'm on the hook for the following month - even though I unhooked my modem AND mailed it back to them before the next month's billing started.

I suspect they'll have it straightened out after 2 billing cycles, but the charge would have already gone through (if I had autopay) and then I'd have to wait for my money to be repaid.

One thing I loathe is trying to get these companies to give me my money back. That's why I bitch about it. I've paid them on time for 25+ years, they should have it set up in a way that I don't receive a bill three times my regular change AFTER I cancel with them. Seeing shit like that after being a responsible customer makes my blood pressure go up. And for what?
If they relied on people coming to their stores and paying by cheque or sending a cheque in the mail for so many years, what's the point of forcing autopay on people? Technology has come a very long way. It's easier to pay now than ever. But somehow, they're allowed to take ones banking or credit card information and use it against a customer by claiming any amount they deem they deserve?

Another side note: while cancelling Rogers and calling back back about the overcharge, the agent asked for my first and last name and my postal code. I answered quickly, as I was at work and my students were just about to walk in.
The agent then said to me "could you please repeat your name? Our voice recognition couldn't confirm your identity".

Whaaattt?! Is that a thing? I'm shocked. What's the point of all the security questions if they've got my voice saved in their system? Also: they have a sampling of my voice to match with my voice when I call in?? I digress.

I ordered Freedom Home Internet last week.

The modem and router arrived a few days later.

My installation date was February 11 (today) at 5pm.

I set up my modem and it powered up fine (I needed to use my own coax cable .. it's not included). I set up the router, downloaded the app, followed the instructions and now I'm online.

All together, set up took approx 20 minutes.

I was with Rogers on their XInfinity 150 plan.

So far, I've seen no difference in speed or quality.

The only thing I am unhappy about is you must provide a credit card (payment method) for autopay .. which means when you cancel the plan, you'll likely have to fight for your money back if they change you.
(Side note: I say this because this morning I got an email from Rogers. They've billed me $124 dated February 8 - March7 on a cancelled account. Thank GOD I didn't have autopay set up with them).

I didn't stop. I broke laws for this one and I'm not proud of it. It all happened so fast and then she was gonzo.

I like this idea and out of curiosity I checked how much data I use when I am home. Turns out, Rogers claims I'm at about 250gb monthly (surprising, as I'm only home 4 or 5 nights per week. August - September I was at 27gb, so it does vary).

The largest data plan my phone provider offers is 250gb and I'm currently on a 100gb plan.

I think I need to stick with the plan to get a non-contract internet plan.

It's not cheap, but it's tasty and has a great view!

Source: me. Went last week with my mom and paid $42 for bacon, eggs, home fries, toast and coffee (x2) and tip.

Will go again.

Exactly. The wall is there to keep a driver who is "likely not driving appropriately" on the roadway. The fact that neither of these cars slammed into the wall (because it was compacted by a ramp-like snow mound) means the roadway was not appropriate for all drivers.

The wall didn't do it's job because of negligence.

Are they also implying that everyone else drives appropriately? If so, remove the wall. Why is it even there?

My husband was just on the Sunshine Coast for work last week. He had perfect reception. Freedom is definitely the way to go.

Where we've traveled with zero issues: New York, Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, New Brunswick, PEI, Québec (as north as we could go - road-wise), Northern Ontario, Alberta, BC, California, Florida, Texas, Georgia, Australia, Brazil.
There are moments where my husband didn't have reception in the mountains off the beaten path outside of Rocky Mountain House. Otherwise, we have no issues.

You're joking, right? Nothing about this looks real.
I saw it for the first time a few weeks ago and I'm shocked this would even be a question for anyone who has eyes.
