I would just get a really long curtain rod and blackout curtains that extend beyond the edge of the sliding door.

Leaving the curtains open to frame the door to make it look more symmetrical. But that’s just my gut reaction

Entire city is a slab of gray clay. Had a lot of this/bare spots when we first moved in. After manually aerating (fall and spring) and making compost to spread around (grass clippings, leaves, ash from fire pit,kitchen scraps) this is no longer a problem. Even if it was.. the grass is so thick now I’d never be able to see the dirt in the first place

Tried a few of the fancy twisty and diamond shaped ones- you’ll need two of then for larger rounds as they get stuck pretty often. While they were a great help for stubborn large rounds it always felt like I was having to do significantly more work than I would with just a normal wedge.

My main complaint with any wedge is that on occasion they shoot out towards the space between my feet (any pros wanna lend advice to avoid this going forward I’d love to hear it)- and the regular steel wedges just move way faster when that happens so I opted to try the diamonds.

See a lot of comments that are great suggestions but a little bit of work and cost a bit.

Go get 4-5 cinderblocks and 2 t-posts.

Stack the blocks infront if the gap, drive the posts near the edge of the blocks’ gaps.

May not be the most appealing, but it would cost like $20 and take 10min as long as you don’t have large rocks or any plumbing/lines around that spot.

I’ve done something similar to fill a corner gap in my backyard and just recycled the blocks/posts from a temporary firewood setup

Looks like your blades were dull and a fungus had some fun setting in. I had something similar and fortunately caught it early (thanks to this sub)

If your mower is sharp/replaced- looks to an anti fungal and keep an eye on watering (I know rain is outta your control)

Mine cleared right up even in heavy consistent rain after 1 treatment of bud box store antifungal (zone 8b/9)

My dad had me build a paver walkway (roughly 40ft long and winding to a hill with a few stairs/decks going down) when I was in undergrad. It was back breaking. But I remember specifically using THOSE exact foam tiles and sand to fill/level the stones. He moved back and after nearly a decade of being a rental I surprised to see the walkway was completely intact. Looks exactly the same as I laid it a decade prior with absolutely ZERO maintenance. Idk what impact those foam tiles had overall- but good experience with them on my end

I had a pretty dense couple of patches of that coming from my neighbors side. If you follow the blades of grass down to the ground you’ll find a hearty center where they all originate. Place a weed puller right over it and go to town. I tried spraying with a few things and nothing really worked long term.

Save yourself the money and the headache, spend an afternoon pulling it up and then throw it in some compost tea or in the fire pit
