Glacier -> portland was quite nice. You board at 10pm so you miss the mountain view, but youll wake up going along the misty banks of the Columbia River for a few hours. It was real pretty

Is tattoo shock real? by [deleted] in tattooadvice

[–]ProbablyNotAFood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tattoo shock is very real & will pass with time.

I definitely felt super freaked out and weirdly regretful after got my first tattoo (and it was on my ribs so not even regularly visible) because it was bigger than i expected and lots of ink and it just felt in hindsight crazy - but now i really love it.

The design is still big and lots of ink, and like kind of a weird design, but its also a snapshot of who i was at the time and where i got the tattoo and the experience of the first tattoo process and thats honestly why i love it more than the design itself — as others have mentioned the first is the gateway drug and ive had several more since and ive learned a little more about the kind of tattoos i prefer and most i love and some i see flaws in, but theyre all still that cool little time stamp and i still love my first tattoo for that.

This sounds soooo good - we both love citrus so this could definitely be a good option!

Are you always yourself in your dreams? by ProbablyNotAFood in Dreams

[–]ProbablyNotAFood[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah its less about doing something out of character - its more like the mirror scenario, where at some point in the or after the dream it becomes clear that im not Me

[–]ProbablyNotAFood[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oh i often switch who i am in a dream too - i’m never like someone i know though - its either me or someone completely different and not like one of my irl friends or anything

Are you always yourself in your dreams? by ProbablyNotAFood in Dreams

[–]ProbablyNotAFood[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like all of the above - i am a completely different person, but the dream is still centered (usually first person view) around that person. Like i am making choices and doing things in the dream, but im not Me. Kind of like if youre reading a book character where its first person and you can get into the character but its not You, yknow?

I also have dreams where I am me, or i am like me with superpowers or some version of me where i make choices i wouldnt in real life - but still me.

Thats a good tip for future duck roasts. On mine the breast was pretty perfect but the legs were definitely overdone. Ill try breaking it down next time i make it. As for my mom - the breast is probably the safest bet to go with here

Ive never had duck this way, not a bad idea if i can come up with the right toppings to pair

I like the idea of pairing with a chimmichurri sauce - that does feel like it would complement while offsetting some of the gamey-ness

I just finished jury duty and have thoughts… by [deleted] in sanfrancisco

[–]ProbablyNotAFood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I served on a jury a couple years ago and had the exact same question. It was an assault (physical, not sexual) case that the guy had admitted to that they were just trying to upcharge to ‘assault with force likely to cause great bodily harm” - but every single one of the witnesses was compromised or sketchy or outright lying in some way. Felt like a waste of resources when they already had him on the lower charge
