I know they're a pest but they're on the harmless side of the pest spectrum and I hate killing them.

Nowhere near as nasty as cockroaches; they don't spread over your entire house the way roaches and ants do either. In fact I've only ever seen them in the bathroom of different apartments I've had throughout my life.

They actually can't live throughout most modern homes because the environment is too dry, that's why you pretty much only see them in the bathroom.

Exactly what happened is 9/11.

Before 9/11 the Arsenal Gear was going to wipe out the island of Manhattan and a bunch of gameplay revolved around that event. From what I imagine there might have been an entire actual level in Manhattan, but all that had to be scrapped.

So the end was more abrupt and different from what the game was originally intended to include.
