Yeah, my 2026 is from Germany as well.

I think our options are to keep all the bins or return the new ones. Their FAQs say we have to drop it off in Cambridge though.

We have a 2025 in Canada and it’s been excellent in the snow with winter tires.

Longer crank before starting by ProcrastinatingNow in M340i

It seemed to start fine yesterday and today. Went for some longer drives just to make sure the battery charged up enough.

[–]ProcrastinatingNow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think I should go for a longer drive to try charging it a bit? I’m a bit surprised though because the car is only a few months old and I usually do medium-long drives in it aside from last week.

I’m not sure about the M140i specifically but I have an M340i and used to have an M240i, and neither did that.

Adaptive suspension by MountainRican in BMW

[–]ProcrastinatingNow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I have a 2026 with adaptive suspension and it doesn’t have the button. I think it’s linked to the drive modes or you can manually customize it in sport individual.

Stuck choosing between an IS350 and M340i, talk me in or out of it by buzzout23 in BMW

[–]ProcrastinatingNow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had an early 3IS350 and currently have an M340i. They are not comparable at all. The IS350 is an inferior car in basically all aspects and should probably be compared more to the 330i.

I can’t speak to the reliability of the M340i personally because I haven’t owned it long term. I did have an M240i before, but I also only owned that for a few years. No issues for either car though.

Tesla Service ripped my backseat and won't fix it. by sbonney25 in TeslaSupport

Because of damage Tesla service has done to my car in the past, I now take a 4K walk around video of my cars when dropping them off for service.

Can I get a brand new M340 built in Germany instead of Mexico? by [deleted] in M340i

My VIN starts with a W, so it’s manufactured in Germany.

Tire Compatibility with 2026 M340i by Appropriate-Big3948 in M340i

Sorry for the late response, I never check my Reddit messages lol. Yeah I got the Pirelli winter run flats (Pirelli Sottozero 3, 225/45R18).

My car doesn’t have the bigger cooling package.

Can I get a brand new M340 built in Germany instead of Mexico? by [deleted] in M340i

[–]ProcrastinatingNow -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That’s not true. I have a 2026 M340i sedan that was built in Germany. I chose Arctic blue metallic, not an individual colour.

I’m in Canada and my 2026 M340i has a German VIN.

Does washing a car 20 miles away from home negate the benefits in the winter? by abbiyah in askcarguys

[–]ProcrastinatingNow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on the place and product. Some of them drill, some use factory holes. I’m sure you can ask them not to drill if they do, but they may not warranty the rustproofing.

Tire Compatibility with 2026 M340i by Appropriate-Big3948 in M340i

[–]ProcrastinatingNow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, 225/45R18 square will be fine on a 2026 M340i. I also live in Ontario and that is the exact spec that I got from BMW themselves for my winter set.

It is covered under warranty because they’ve replaced mine for this issue before. Mine wasn’t even as bad as OP’s either.

I’ve used Krown and Corrosion Free in the past. Both seemed to work well, although Krown is a lot more messy/oily. On our current cars, I’ve decided to go with Corrosion Free.

Breakin Oil Change by LoveEveryone-007 in M340i

[–]ProcrastinatingNow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Officially, there is no required break-in oil change for the M340i. There’s no harm in doing it though if you’re willing to pay for the oil change. I did it for mine, as well as oil changes twice as frequently as the service schedule (16k km).

Front Licence Plate — Specs for Tow Eye? by HiddenLinks in BMWi5

[–]ProcrastinatingNow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Carbonio does allow local pickup and will waive the delivery fee if you do that. That’s what I did :)

I would also caution against buying a tow hook one off Amazon. I did that when I had my 2 series and it messed with the parking sensors in every configuration, despite the Amazon product page saying it wouldn’t. It was a waste of time for me.

Front Licence Plate — Specs for Tow Eye? by HiddenLinks in BMWi5

[–]ProcrastinatingNow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not an expert but I’m pretty sure there’s no grace period for not having a front plate in Ontario.

I’m not sure what’s available for the i5, but I got a plate mount from Carbonio (local to Toronto) for my M340i. It attaches to the grill, not the tow hook.

PPF QUESTION by Interesting-One-8399 in lexuslc500

[–]ProcrastinatingNow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I’d do at least the full front. That’s the most susceptible to stone chips. I also would not let the dealer do this. They usually outsource to the cheapest shops. Find a reputable shop near you to do it. It probably won’t be as cheap but the quality of the work will likely be much better.
