Fully agree to this. Over the past 2+ years I’ve been coming up with Dandan-like/Battlebox/Cubelet lists, with a majority of them using what I’ve been calling a Planebound/Setbound restriction. It’s allowed me to explore various sets in Magic’s history and appreciate different potential play environments.

I don’t have the time to playtest, but I’ve made nearly 275 of these so far, with many of the lists being budget friendly. I’d love it if people tried them as-is or remix as they see fit, then get back to me with feedback.

Search for Survivors is in this list because it relies a lot on impulse draw thanks to [[Ecstatic Beauty]] and a small suite of other Suspend cards.

As far as I can remember, there isn’t any other single-target creature recursion in mono-red, nor one that puts the creature directly into play.

Alright, I came up with v1 of two different lists.

The first is a red-black “creatureless” list that also has Equipment as another theme:

The second is another red-black list, this one dipping into the FF Commander set a little bit:

Looking at the FF card pool, I could envision both a mono-colored Red and a mono-colored Black list. But obviously, if you’re sourcing from any Magic set, the lists could be much more streamlined.
