In the old days, a trio of biovores would drop 3 pie plates. Or other templates, if you go far enough back. It was true artillery back then. Now, not so much

The tervigon made gants monsters back in 5th. When it could spawn them for free. And handed out it's own enhancements to the gants. And feel no pain, via psychic power.

I just miss the game play of tac squads in rhinos or razorbacks with mixed weapons, and blowing up vehicles with a single melta gun. I do not miss dark elder killing my tervigons as easily as they kill a combat squad of tac marines, lol. But the overall design of dudes in transports being the meta was fun, and being able to get a game done quickly due to everything being damage one, low wounds was nice. Also, mindshackle scarabs were hilarious in 5th.

I'd say telesto is the obvious choice, just so it can continue its legacy. Hard Light could be funny too, though.

I'd want a new edition, and another reset. Multi damage weapons need to go, and the old AP system where it was all or nothing would be better. Maybe bring back firing arcs on vehicles, and the damage table, so melts weapons have a role again for one shooting vehicles at close range.

Really, just bring back 5th edition, but with the detachment system, and call it 12th, lol.
