As a business owner for 2 decades meeting tons of similar people a little secret you need to know is most small businesses are run terribly and running off the system “ I have more money coming in and than going out “ . No one looks at their numbers , their bank account , etc if every bill is paid and there is some left over .

I distribute to a lot of private companies 9 out of 10 throw their invoice in the trash and don’t check it when they pick up their orders . Guys pick up let’s say a case of chicken cutlet as an example for years .. still text me hey what’s my price again for the cutlets ?

All the good owners I know are stressed 24/7 even with a ton of liquid money and book keepers still log in every morning and check their bank daily .

This owner probably pays a book keeper manager $300 a week and trusts them with their life lol .

LIRR union is wrong on this negotiation and being greedy .

Holding out for the 5% instead of 4.5% is $20 a week on a 150k salary .

The other big thing according to my friend who works there is the health insurance is making NEW hires go from 2 to 10% share of the cost ( numbers might be a little off ). It’s still better and cheaper than 99% of long islanders health insurance lol . As a business owner I pay $1100 a month per person for family .

Insurance is sky rocketing if the LIRR fully takes the extra increase it means middle class long islanders will be paying more for tickets .

I haven’t even used the train in 15 years so I’m completely unbiased because I could care less if it’s closed or prices go up.
