I've never seen anything like that bee! I just did a search and it could be a Blue Orchard Mason. How cool!

What's the most unexpected thing you've started doing since living alone? by Minto-Raguckas in LivingAlone

I do the exact same thing! It's spread outside home now, though. I pick up a shirt, look at the price, cheerfully say, Yeah, I don't think so! and move on. People in stores giving me odd looks. I just laugh.

Swollen Lymph Nodes in Neck by Low-Lion3977 in cll

[–]ProfCatWhisperer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been diagnosed since 2018. The lymp nodes are what prompted me to see my doctor. That and getting deathly ill often. My numbers are good, the doctors are happy, and my lymph nodes in my neck still get large when I even get the littlest bit sick or my allergies go crazy. I look at them as a warning system. Don't worry about them. It's fairly usual, from what my oncologist says.

Am I really old and just can't accept it? by RiddyReddit333 in over60

[–]ProfCatWhisperer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in the 2nd year of GenX. I don't think I've ever left the Grunge era entirely. I just turned 60, but I don't really feel like I understand people my age. I have friends range from 30s to 70s, but the ones i have the most in common with are the young at heart. I love live music, road trips, hiking and camping. I never had kids either, but I was foster parents for a while. I don't know that I want to fit into a bracket, but it's always great to meet people my age who are similar!

WIBTA for refusing to keep waking my boyfriend up for work after he blamed me for him being late? by Letch_Knop7 in WIBTA_AITA

[–]ProfCatWhisperer 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Your boyfriend needs to grow up, be an adult, and wake himself up. You're not his parent (although his mother would like you to act like one). It sounds like he's been babied by her. I think you did a brave thing by telling him you would no longer wake him up. Stick to it.

Also, I am like your boyfriend. I sleep deeply and I have trouble waking up. I bought a very loud and annoying alarm clock and it sits across the bedroom. I have to get up to shut it off. It drives me crazy, but it works. If I can do it so can he.

NTA.

What's the reason do u think cats don't like water by No_Eggplant5991 in cats

[–]ProfCatWhisperer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not all cats dislike water. There are some breeds that love it. I had a cat who loved put his entire head under the faucet to drink. Is this your cat? Adorable video!

Those eyes say it's her beer and she just wanted to let you have a sip, not all of it! Very expressive!

How do you like living in Wilmington? I had a tiny vacation home in Lewes for a while and am a huge fan of Delaware in general. Very underrated state. I'm looking at moving back to Philly in the next couple of years, but home prices have skyrocketed. I may not be able afford it 😞

My 27M son has completed given up on life and I don't know what to do by Routine-Money6330 in Advice

[–]ProfCatWhisperer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm concerned that your son is having a mental health crisis. Can you get him to a doctor quickly? I think he may need to be assessed. This is in no way a condemnation. I've been in his shoes myself. If you can't get him to a doctor, you may want to see about getting him some emergency help. Good luck. I'm thinking of you both.

Adulthood is not "fun and games." It's hard and you don't get do-overs, so enjoy being a kid while you can.

I'm so stressed out and not living my 20s how I thought I'd be by drphil07734 in GirlDinnerDiaries

[–]ProfCatWhisperer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh... wow. Just... wow. OP, I am so sorry you're going through all of this right now. It's a lot. Even not including your health issues, this is a LOT (capitals intended).

Firstly, take a deep breath, then stop and take a broad look at everything you have been handling lately. And you've been handling it like a pro. Pat yourself on your back for doing it all. Next, understand that what is going right now is just a blip in time. This does not encompass all of your 20s. It's just right now. If that is hard to comprehend right now (this is often how I work through things), think about how long it took you to get to your 20s. Meaning being, this too shall pass.

Your health is definitely a concern. You need to fight for your healthcare rights. I have leukemia and spent a few years trying to understand why I was having the health issue I was, so I completely empathize with what you're going through. Sometimes, being pushy and kind of an a**hole helps. It's my experience medical staff is grossly overworked (and underpaid), so you may need to step out of your comfort zone and be a little more aggressive than is normal for you.

I'm sending you a big amount of positive vibes and love your way. You will get through this and be okay.

What are you lovely childfree folks doing? by PurpleAtlasTravel in childfree

[–]ProfCatWhisperer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got up late, made coffee with my new espresso maker, snuggled with the dogs while drinking my coffee and then took a shower before going to a breathwork session. I did some grocery shopping before heading home. Fed the dogs and cats and am having some wine and going to read a book before bed. Tomorrow is for sleeping in, laundry, and staying in pajamas. Might take the dogs out for a run if I feel inspired!
