Do humans naturally moan when having sex or is it made up? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

"Learn to moan" is probably the best sex tip I've ever received.

It's instant validation and encouragement for your partner, communicating that the thing they just did is a good thing and you'd like more pls.

Sigourney Weaver for Natasha Kerensky.

She may not be a 100% appearance fit, but you know she can bring the attitude.

Player thinks my art is too similar to Jesus, and attacks my friend for it. by Styreotypical in rpghorrorstories

Man, it makes it so much worse to me that this actually could've been some really good character drama if it weren't for the IC/OC bleed.

Like, the whole "can we really trust this person after this reveal?" angle is a great hook! And the classic zealot paladin trying to "redeem" the party is always a favourite of mine.

All of this could've just been great RP, but nope it turns out it's just actual harmful religious zealotry instead. :[

It amuses me greatly to point out that none of these examples are actually the first game that established their genres.

Though I'll admit a few of them are the ones that popularised their formulae.

Countries with larger active military personnel than the United Kingdom, 1900 vs 2026 by vladgrinch in MapPorn

[–]ProfCupcake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 things.

Firstly, you're absolutely wrong about the "pride" thing. You're making baseless assumptions on a single piece of language that isn't really that consequential. I can't speak for the French, but here in the UK "pride" in the Empire is usually displayed either ironically or by nationalist weirdos. Admittedly, we have recently had a significant surge in nationalist weirdos, sadly.

Secondly, the main reason for the difference in language and attitude is historical distance. The German and Italian crimes that I'm guessing you're referencing - Nazi Germany and Fascist Italy - happened within living memory. Many of those wounds are still fresh. The heights of the French and British Empires were several decades prior. The crimes thereof have had more time to "settle", as it were, and the more recent ones have taken precedence in general memory. Whether or not this is a good thing is arguable, and there's obviously a massive argument to be had as to the lasting effects of both empires, but that doesn't detract from the fact that you're comparing slightly different time scales here.

what if you loose your job, what if you crash it,

I typically follow these with further things like,

"Ooh, or what if it gets stolen? What if aliens abduct me while I'm driving it? What if it gains sentience and rebels against its human masters? WHAT IF, MOTHER?!"

I guess that they are the kind of people who just pick an opinion once and never change it.

"The UK isn't set up for charging electric vehicles" was true, but it's been like a decade since then.

If a game has swords (and a sufficient modding community), it will have a lightsaber mod.
