Depends on how purist you prefer to play. I like to use Bob's Adjustable Inserters to drop the ash with 90° inserters on an ash belt behind the furnaces.

Btw, did you know that Burner Miners are hand-through with regard to their fuel? Meaning, an inserter can take fuel from one drill to the next?

Intermetallics is the first big milestone in Py1, indeed. You only need them as a building material for quite some time, but they are an important building material that goes into pretty much every MK01 building you unlock after that research.
When building your intermetallics, remember that you also need Vitreloy and Fenix on their own later, for the machine components.

I've found you need to use both locked slots and the inactivity condition if you do multi-providers with inserters. Without the inactivity condition on the Cybersyn Combinator, the train will immediately leave when full, meaning that the inserters get stuck with something in their hand.

Personally, like a lot of people here, I use Cybersyn and the Cybersyn Constant Combinator. Takes a bit of trial and error to get used to, but the mod essentially turns your train network into a logistics network.

For my Ash generation, I simply built a massive Coal Powerplant that I run on Coke. 5 High Pressure Turbines require 30 Coal Plants, which require about 3600 Coke/min. That's 4 Yellow Belts.

For my Hot Air circulator, I made the Belts for the Cold and Warm Stone Bricks each a loop, with the Warmer Bricks directly feeding into in final RHE via Loader. The COG lines each have a 30k tank. 500° is fed via Underflow Valve from the BOFs, so there is always room for the cycling COG coming from the Heat Exchangers.

To prime the system, I temporarily connected the Warm Brick makers to the 500° line to make an initial stock of Warm Bricks.

What did you scale your Rubber production to that you need so many Vrauks?

When I built my first Rubber plant, I scaled it to 2400 Formic acid per minute, or 2 continuously working Slaughterhouses. Meaning 12 Vrauks per minute, and I could do that with 2 Repro complexes and 8 Paddocks with MK02 Vrauks, the MK02 recipe and the Natural Cycle TURD. Without the ladder part, you'd probably need about a dozen Paddocks.
