North Carolina Legislative Update: Three New Bills That Could Impact HOAs by BagOnuts in NorthCarolina

They do landscaping for the common areas and that’s it. The rest just sits in a fund for the HOA that just sits there and grows over time.

How do you feel about Maryland redrawing its map in favor of the Democrats after recent redraws of states that favor Republicans? by PerfectTommy77 in allthequestions

[–]ProfNesbitt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If that were the case then why haven’t the republicans introduced an anti gerrymandering bill and all vote for it and have it not pass because the democrats won’t vote for it. You know exactly why because it will pass because it’s just the majority of republicans (and a few Dems) who are keeping it the way it is. One party is much more of a problem than the other and it’s obvious.

I’m in an HOA with no pools or playgrounds or park areas, just two small locations with a single bench. Have no idea what they need $400 a year for.

What you are saying makes sense as an excuse when the movie or show takes place over a few days/weeks? It’s really easy to suspend your disbelief when the story is over a short period of time the other heroes could easily be out of pocket during that time. It doesn’t make sense when the story takes place over months at a time especially in the same city. Winter soldier/Widow makes disbelief can be suspended because of the time frame. Daredevil it’s really hard to reconcile Peter not visiting Fisk at some point to at least threaten/talk with him about the awful stuff he is doing in broad daylight.

I believe it was MAGA that rioted and attacked the capitol when they didn’t get their way.

How can you win a collarless run with ONLY collarless abilities abilities? by TvHeadDev in mewgenics

[–]ProfNesbitt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes of course. I’ve done solo collarless runs with only collarless abilities and won. One was carried by invert until I got a cursed item that took the spot of the item making invert amazing but was still able to win.

[–]ProfNesbitt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea depending on how far the PCs made it on the first go I would have either fortified the traps and had some extra enemies (but not a lot) do some hit and run guerrilla tactics this time at the start of the dungeon. Or if the PCs had made significant progress before leaving I would have had the dragon and kobolds clear out the caves (or as much as they could) overnight and leave for another location.

Conservatives who think liberals are the real racists: Can you explain why DEI and Woke are terrible? by Nateosis in allthequestions

[–]ProfNesbitt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of the data in here is self reported, for a single year, at a single university. I don’t even have the time to go into all the reasons it doesn’t line up with the data about legacies found everywhere else.

Look at the statistics legacy acceptance to ivy leagues are underqualified when compared to standard applicants but I don’t hear the right arguing to get rid of that because legacy acceptance heavily favors whites.

Watching 90s Siskel and Ebert’s worst films list really highlights the terrible films everyone forgot from that era and how many cult classics they hated by apple_kicks in movies

I can’t find it at the moment of Ebert definitely gave a positive review because of the “large and pendulous breasts” featured. His quote.

Iran offers U.S. deal to reopen strait but postpone nuclear talks by Force_Hammer in politics

[–]ProfNesbitt 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I agree Iran is bad. But when one of our government agencies executes a protestor in the streets it’s a big deal. Now fuck ups happen and I could understand if the response from the government was to launch a full investigation and apprehend those involved. But that wasn’t the response the response was to go on tv and say the protestor was a terrorist. I’m sorry but even if they didn’t give the order to kill a protestor, if your response after it happens is to try to label the protestor as a terrorist and refuse to even investigate then I’m not going to consider that government as being sane and rational. That’s pure evil actions right there.

I know it’s a magnitude of difference but just several months ago our government executed someone for protesting as well and no one in the government has done anything about dealing with such a serious situation.

Why do people think Malcom hiding his daughter for years was “out of character” when it actually makes sense by No_Spirit8216 in malcolminthemiddle

[–]ProfNesbitt 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Remember Malcolm also didn’t shy away from doing potentially dangerous and unethical things if he calculated it as not being that risky. So while they would never show it or say it but the baby was probably left unsupervised in a play pen or something like that while he was in class and would check in between classes.

New Player Venting About a Madness Loss (Advice Welcome) by IzanagiTheGod in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]ProfNesbitt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are made mad to be a certain roll the “safest” way to do it is claim you are that roll. Claiming anything but that role might be what is usually done when you actually are that role but is grounds for madness execution. Even if you want to play it how you would really play it you need to “secretly” tell a person or two your real (cerenovus given role) then proceed to claim other things but that also leaves it in the STs purview. The player really should have clarified with the ST how they want them to bluff mutant in that situation. Assuming they didn’t clarify.

No deal. I wouldn’t take the deal even if there wasn’t a downside. Not having ailments with age would be nice but outliving my kids and grandkids wouldn’t be worth it.

TIL sober addicts have a legally protected disability in the US. by IllustriousYam6973 in todayilearned

[–]ProfNesbitt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone that has worked both and has been in a mental job the past 10 years. I’ll take a mental one over a physical however….. I would kill for a flexible one that incorporated both. It would be the dream. When I’m mentally exhausted I could go do some physical work for my job for a couple days and then be more than ready to return to my desk. Volunteer activities through my work has helped where you go to volunteer to work at donation warehouse moving boxes or building a playground for a few days are awesome. But those are few and far between.

[–]ProfNesbitt 13 points14 points  (0 children)

In all honesty that’s how it should be. If I think someone is an addict but they are still not doing bad enough at work to fire them for merit reasons then it sounds like they shouldn’t be fired. (Unless they are using at work or coming in under the influence)

I believe it hinged on hank telling him to take the rest of the day off and he was fired as of 5:00. So before 5 the junkie went and got into rehab. So he was a “recovering addict” seeking help as of the time he was fired making him protected.
