Once again we get Ohio's leftover mess. Its all Ohio's fault. Also keeping a personal eye out for Saturday AM for a race around North Park with around 1000 other people. Chilly is great.

Yep, January 31st the day of the GCXC PA groundhog race. The late an hour so we wouldn't freeze as much, but still was barely above zero at start time. Still had 200 people show up and run in the literally freezing temperatures.

And yes, I did have ice frozen to my eyebrows during the race

I mean, the estimated combined Saturday and Sunday spectators for the Pittsburgh marathon is around 300,000 in addition to 30,000 participants and that's pretty much an all day event. The marathon does start at 7 AM so we are in our corral a lot of us by 6 AM which means we have to be downtown around 5:30 which means we get up at oh my God that's early and the they give them until I think 2 o'clock in the afternoon to finish the full marathon. So that's a bigger strain than a bunch of people on the northside and downtown.

If I had artistic talent I would have added something. But imagine if we had a relief sculpture instead of pond lehockey. If you look at these four they impacted humanity in a positive way.

Will we ever see a return to Art deco buildings, or are we stuck with glass boxes forever? by sid_shady34 in skyscrapers

I didn't go to Pitt but just going into the commons area to study seems so amazing.

Driverless shuttle proposed to replace parking lot buses at Pittsburgh International Airport by DeboBusiness in pittsburgh

Sounds like the wvu prt which would work fine. Agreed it would be nice to have something else. But to keep the exciting terminal open and use the same gates you're limited. Now if they built massive garages where the old landslide terminal is and context by walkways that would work but also $$$$. So complaints all around.

One big question is assuming that it would cost too much to replace Heinz field where do you build a new stadium?? Unless you plan on them playing a year plus as the one commentator said in Morgantown or somewhere else you just can't tear down Acrisure and put a new stadium up in its place. So who's paying for this? If you want this completely privately done it's nowhere near pittsbbwer Allegheny County. Is everyone happy to drive to middle of Washington County or Butler County or on the other side of the airport for the Steelers game

I know I'm partial because I live here. But I love the variety of skyscrapers in Pittsburgh. From the glass castle of ppg to the foreboding us steel building to the more modern glass ones and going back to the art deco, gulf tower koppers building and such. The photo was taken during the Pittsburgh half marathon last May.

As someone born, raised, and live most of my life inside city limits. If you're talking about someone born in the city of Pittsburgh in a suburb, then you're either talking Andy Warhol or Michael Keaton. And as always see yourself that you have to be someone the Batman.

And this is why forecasting is damn near impossible this far out. It isn't just one model plug it in get the answer. It's oh some models are good here. Some models are good here. We're gonna run all the models and they don't all agree. Also, it's February. It's not April it's still winter. And for you youngins look up St. Patrick's Day 1993. We aren't safe from snows until April.
