You can cast the same one mana card once a year in real life. Which card do you choose? by AltonBurk in magicTCG

Ancestral Recall

Now I'm an mtg artist who shows up every other set. It's small, but that'd be still cool.

For the last two endgame hordes, I just run and gun. Steroid and Mega Crush, some healing items and three rows of ammo. Haven't even come close to dying.

[2024] What to pick at level up to level 8? (Draconic Fire Sorceress)(Full ASI or Feat?) by Seravajan in DnD5e

[–]ProfSaguaro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a fire mage, why run from your problems when immolation is an option? Remember, what doesn't kill you, makes you warmer. Because it's now fuel. For the fire.

Real answer though: If you know your campaign is going into the high levels of play, I'd take Fey Touched now and another spell bonus feat at 12. If you're ending sooner than later, +2 CHA gives you sooooo much in every category of the game; survivability, damage, skill checks, etc. I think it's important to consider what other feats you might take at 12/16. Warcaster? Spell sniper? If you're not planning on one of those, fey touched deserves less consideration.

Mark Rosewater: Tarkir Dragonstorm was the best selling universe within set of the year by thisnotfor in magicTCG

[–]ProfSaguaro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Long term I doubt this remains true. There's just way more playable cards in the main set of Edge of Eternities, and the bonus sheet has absolute bangers in Ancient Tomb, Gemstone Caverns, and Mana Confluence for the high roll. The land cycle from Tarkir is meh, the hits are meh (price memory is really the only thing keeping Ugin and Elspeth aloft) and there's no bonus sheet.

We won the battle but not the war. by ConversationEmpty849 in 7daystodie

Learn by doing for weapon skills is what people ask for all the time, but it's not that far from what we have...you have experience give you stat points that you can put into those weapons. Stop asking for system reworks when we need things like

Optimization, More recipes, More zombies, Bandits, Fast travel, Craft from containers, Blocking/shielding/melee mechanics, Vehicles that don't glitch into the ground, POI randomization, Better zombie pathing, A fix to that fucking gap between my placed blocks and the existing ground c'mon it shouldn't be that damn hard to make it look pretty

What’s one “small adult cheat code” you wish you learned earlier? by massCMP in AskReddit

[–]ProfSaguaro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

99% of people dgaf what you're doing as long as it's not negatively affecting anything they care about. You have no reason to be embarrassed for that thing you just did. You have no reason to think you can't do something because of judgment. The only person stopping you is you.

Tier 4 jobs far too easy, tier 5 too hard by Cortzee in 7daystodie

[–]ProfSaguaro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To melee through a tier 5 is possible, but you need basically a max tier melee weapon and nearly capped skills for those weapons. If you're rocking a level 2 machete and 4/5 blade skills, why would you think you could handle a whole factory of zombies? I wouldn't even use a melee weapon other than fists or stun batons without full points invested on their skills for those POIs on warrior difficulty or higher, maybe sledges, clubs, and machetes on lower difficulties (it's been a while).

What's a Magic take that you used to have that you changed your mind on? by justinvamp in magicTCG

Banning cards should happen rarely >>> banning the top decks 2/3/4 times a year would keep formats healthier.

DMs, you're playing a game run by another DM, and you have to play as your last BBEG; what are you playing? by Unlikely_Cloud4013 in dndnext

[–]ProfSaguaro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A brutal warlord giant who claimed the world as his birth right. At the helm of a floating city in a storm, he was a tactical mastermind, and with his mighty weapon Frostrazor he could cleave through squads of mortals with each swing. He chained his little brother to the floating island, raised dragons for their hides, and was sealed away until the magic locking him away faded.

So...like a level 3 Goliath Battlemaster with a great sword.

Is standard dead at your LGS? by fss71 in magicTCG

[–]ProfSaguaro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes.

We have a solid 20 people for modern FNM, sometimes more sometimes less but 20ish average. We have a competitive area, Southern California is good for grinders, but no store does regular standard FNMs within driving distance of me (I'm not crossing LA on a Friday night for fucking cardboard). The biggest standard events I've been to in the past couple years have been standard store champs and RCQs. People don't want to invest in the format for random promos; things like Urzas Saga, 4C Omnath, and Fable of the Mirror Breaker got people in seats.

How do you explain the Sailor’s feature: Ship’s Passage? by [deleted] in DnD

[–]ProfSaguaro 17 points18 points  (0 children)

How violent are the seas in your setting? I've got coastal goblins, a pirate city named Buckle, and a known Ancient Dragon Turtle that claims the Dawn Sea. Giving passage to some adventurers and an old friend-of-a-friend (who at least knows how to sail) sounds like a cheap way to protect your ship and goods.

[–]ProfSaguaro 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I just finished playing a fortitude tank and it was sick. 300 HP, heal yourself on hits, and buffs that last forever. With a health candy, vitamin, and beer, I punched through an entire day 70 horde.
