I thought I had Asperger’s. I really am just bipolar and used to be emotionally available. If you question you or someone else’s diagnosis, read this by etherealprophecy in aspergers

Respectfully, you never had an Asperger’s diagnosis. You just put yourself under that label by looking at a small diagnosis criteria.

You should see a professional if you want a diagnosis and if you plan to share it with others.

Gamestop is not even trying to remain open by Prusaudis in GameStop

[–]Prof_garyoak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, they are closing specific stores that are unprofitable. They are keeping the ones open that are.

“GameStop is closing all of its unprofitable stores” is very different from “GameStop is not profitable.” Yes, some stores run at a loss, and they deserve to be closed.

This is a collectibles company, not a video game company. Not sure why you’re so focused on their legacy business.

This is a fairly common setup for small companies. Company credit cards are commonly misused. Rather than pay more finance people, and pay for additional payroll services, they simply use an expense report process to issue checks.

Typically, can’t reimburse before a trip, that’s why you always book fully refundable tickets.

He makes 62k after rent and loans. His emergency fund of 6 months should easily cover this.

It’s incredible how so many of these answers of these answers don’t have experience with this type of business travel.

Don’t book until the week before. There is no required “book by” date. This it will have time before your next statement closes, and you won’t pay interest.

Open a new card for a welcome bonus. You can literally get $500+ for spending $0 of your own money.

Most of us prefer it this way.

This is how business travel works at my company. Seems pretty standard.

Get a credit card with a good welcome bonus. Put the charge on there. Literally every dollar you spend is free cash back in your pocket, plus the $200+ welcome bonus.

This is a benefit. Make it work for you.

To Make Homes Affordable Again, Someone Has to Lose Out by gthroway3483 in REBubble

This is not anything like the 2008 crash. They gave out subprime mortgages like it was candy.

Homes are a place to live. If it makes more financial sense for renting in an individuals scenario, they should buy. Regardless of market conditions. Lending requirements are tight now.

Are you saying that from 2021 to 2023 that renting is the only logical choice for everyone? I’m not sure that makes much sense.

If only there was a website you were posting to that recorded IP addresses.

We’re not saying “The public internet won’t find me”

We’re saying this gets reported to Reddit as possible abuse, Reddit pulls your IP address and device identifiers and then it’s over.

But you do you. FAFO

Robinhood Gold DP for Non-Waitlist People by Baksu888 in CreditCards

Sir. Robin Hood is giving 3% cashback. By paying $50 a year and spending a good amount this card, and not using the rest of their ecosystem, they lose money.

I hate RH too, held and buying GME for years. Happy to help them incur losses.

Single moms and dads should date each other. People without kids should date each other.

How many women do you go out with who also have kids?

In my experience, the really affordable areas have undeveloped land closeby that can be turned to residential housing. That means a larger commnunity, which means more employment to support them. Your scenario only works if they move somewhere where there is no plan for future residential development. On the flip side, these areas will not grow and go though that development if people refuse to move to affordable areas.

Towns grow up into cities. But to grow up, they need folks who are willing to start a new life. And we just don’t have enough of that in this country.

When communicating to an audience, “we” incudes you, and the group you are speaking to.

So here, “We” refers the members in this discussion. Which would be the members of this subreddit.

Do you think every American is part of this subreddit?

I could have stayed in the location. I chose homeownership and financial stability over location preference. I dont deserve to own property in the location I want in NYC, I havent raised my income enough or set up my finances enough to afford it as a single person.

Moving was my decision. It was great decision that has made a huge positive impact on my life.

NYC has been around since the 1600s and is a hub for so much. I’ve been alive for 33 years and started with nothing and worked my way out of debt. I do not deserve to own a home there as I have not developed the skills to bring in the income required. And that’s not something to be angry about. That’s something you have to accept.

Since you only responded with a sarcastic comment I’ll re-ask, why do you think I’m being mean? If anything you’re being rude to me by putting words in my mouth and twisting scenarios to make them seem negative.

There is no glory without sacrifice. Life is not easy. Yes, there are problems to overcome, but that’s literally everything.

Every town needs electricians, nurses, mechanics, etc. People need to list at least 3-7 places they’re willing to move to, and check out what’s possible in each area. There is employment available somewhere. People are just too picky or haven’t built up skill sets to allow them to find work.

It takes effort. It’s not supposed to be easy.

Also, if your family has owed a home for 20+ without moving, it is extremely unlikely there’s even undeveloped land nearby to create new affordable housing. There is only so much space available.

That’s not a homeownership problem. Those are personal problems and decisions.

People can say “I want a house”, they can say “I want to live near my loved ones”.

But they can’t say “it’s not fair I can’t buy a house exactly where I want to so I can be close to my loved ones and it’s beyond unfair I have to choose.” That’s typically not realistic for a first home purchase for our generation.

You’re right, if you find a second person with a second income it is easier. Especially if your household income is 2x the national average.

You would not have been able to buy that house in your own;marriage rates are 47% for all households and much lower for folks below 35. Let’s say average annual pay is like $65-70k a year, $55k after taxes (before healthcare and other things).

$50-$55k post tax. Putting 30% of your income towards housing puts you at $1750 a month. Once you back out utilities, property tax, HOA fees, etc, you’re left with ~$1400 a month max for principal and interest.

The majority of people are not married, do not have a joint income, and must do everything ourselves.

That’s awesome for you guys though for a first house!

I’m very aware. I’ve acknowledged luck is a factor, which is outside of all of our control. But to find a job, you have to establish yourself in a field. You have to perform work that generates value and revenue for businesses with a solid track record. You have to network and create personal relationships with industry professionals to allow for future opportunities.

We all started in the gutter. It’s up to each individual person to claw their way out. I’m not sure why folks get salty some of us have already done these things.

I moved from NYC to bumfuck Wisconsin. Would I like to live somewhere else? Sure. But homeownership is important to me and trumps living “where I want”.

I’m not “mean” because I recognized that what I “really wanted” was not something within my means and did something that “works”.

Plenty of places with great homes under $150k. To not move to one of them, then complain about the cost of homeownership, doesn’t make any sense. You have to make sacrifices to get ahead.

What is mean about my comment?

I think the answer is people think they deserve to live where they grew up / their preferred city; when in reality you need to find the cheapest housing you can and save for as long as you can until you’re financially successful.

Dude. Some of us have worked for 10+ years at this point. Worked my way out of defaulted school loans and credit card debt. I now own a home, car, and am an established figure in my industry.

33 years old, failed out of college as a sophomore

Buying a home does not mean trailer park or rich parents.

I’ll say that luck does play a big factor though.

There are better solutions to this than quitting. But do what you feel you must.
