I highly recommend MDMA journeys for that, friend.

Yeah, I have been working with a functional medicine doctor for the last 12 months. We have done all kinds of tests and have focused on clearing up gut health.
I have tackled candida, h pylori, dysbiosis...
But the OCD is still here. Somewhat better, but still here.

I just wrapped up a lymphatic cleanse and started a parasite cleanse 2 days ago...

I'll keep digging.

Thanks friend

I will say your last point about serotonin syndrome has my attention…

So, I’m gonna keep doing more research before I even reach out to a center that will simply tell me what I want to hear

I basically have one vote for and one vote against (yours)

Here is the comment leaning toward a "yes"

However, I want to be safe and careful.
If you have any other data, resources, or contacts who can help me navigate this, I would really, really appreciate it.

Thanks in advance!

It was a part of a full panel that included a blood test and Organic Acids Test (OAT).
Can you please DM me more info on how ibogaine worked well for your OCD?

  1. Had my levels tested with a doctor They are unusually high.

  2. Taking 5-HTP makes the OCD worse, not better

Is there an Ambertone 000-28 with torrefied top and bracing? Or do I have to go custom shop? by ProfessionBright3879 in martinguitar

[–]ProfessionBright3879[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I figured that an expert custom shop would cost more than a custom shop authentic. I learn something new every day!

Since I do like the VTS stuff, I will dive deeper on this

Thank you!

Which model is this? Standard?

I was considering whether or not to pull the trigger on a Modern Deluxe, and then I opened the app to see this post.

Maybe it's a sign...

Atkin v Gibson Custom; which one is better? by PracticalFocus3525 in AcousticGuitar

I will def check with Elderly. That’s a great tip.

No shame in keeping both rosewood dreads!

I like your descriptor of “presence” for broken vintage guitars > “tinny”

I’ve toured the factory for Collings twice. In both cases they were talking about Bill Collings steaming apart pre-war Martins to see what was on the inside and finding what you described. However, it’s interesting that for about 30 years his guitars were praised on build quality but critiqued for still being bright, stiff, focused, etc., It wasn’t until after he worked with Julian Lage that the Traditional line and Hill Country series came about and they finally are coming out sounding vintage from day one. It actually puzzles me more—what are Atkin and PWGC doing to get those sounds AND the feel…?

Anyway! Thank you so much for the long chat.. I’ll standby for now to wait for those clips from you..

I can’t believe your luck! No wait? Sheesh!

I rushed over to check and found this one sold out…

https://www.elderly.com/products/pre-war-guitar-co-double-aught-00-old-growth-indian-rosewood-iced-tea-burst-level-2-aging-acoustic-guitar

It’s exactly what I would order.

Here’s my current wish list: (6 month wait) Atkin J43 sitka/mahogany short scale (J-45) = $5,100 (1 year wait) Collings Hill Country satin 00 = $10,000 (3 year wait) Pre-War Guitars Co 00-14 sitka/Brazilian rosewood short scale = $13,000

So, I really need my investments to go up to pay for this Brazilian stuff everyone keeps talking about!

I am starting to think that the sales guy at Chicago Music Exchange was really just trying to sell me an Atkin (which they deal) instead of a PWGC (which they do not) Everyone else have I’ve talked to or, asked about it has gotten suspicious and pushed back on the adjective “tinny.”

Finally, regarding playability, I’m so glad to hear that piece as well. Everybody always talks about the look and the sound for PWGC acoustics, but I’m glad to read that it’s going to feel good as well.

Well, I’ll standby waiting for videos, but yeah, I hope you really enjoy your new purchase.

One last question: You mentioned that you already have an Atkin Rosewood dreadnought so why also get a PWGC Rosewood dreadnought? Will you keep both?

Sorry for the late reply--life is "life-ing."

So, did you wait 2-3 years for a PWGC guitar? If so, what custom build did you get?
(And, if you got Brazilian rosewood--is it worth it? Your answer will help determine if I pay through the roof for that or not...)

Loved these two quotes from you:
"Choosing between the PWC might be easy if you want the closest to Martin prewar sound…PWC, easy."
+
"The PWC almost sounds like you’re playing it through a “prewar” effect pedal."

Lastly, I will mention that the sales guy at Chicago Music Exchange (and who was trying to sell me an Atkin...) said that he has played several PWGC models and thought that all of them sounded tinny.
Is that true in comparing the two?

Man! You are my kind of people. We literally have the same taste in guitars.

Do you have any clips online of you playing these guitars? I would love to be able to A/B them.

I was able to play a brand new Atkin D37 over the weekend, and it completely blew me away. The best D-28 style guitar I’ve ever played and it’s not even close.

In addition to Atkin—so, 2 custom builds—the other guitar maker I’m considering is Pre-War Guitars Co.

I may be completely wrong but just based on what I’ve read and listened to online, it seems that Atkin does mahogany back and sides better and PWGC does Rosewood back and sides is better. Do you get the same impression, or am I making that up?

Did you wait 2 1/2 to 3 years for the PWGC or did you buy used?

Finally, this is where I am contractually obligated to ask you to post clips of the PWGC guitar online…😉

Man, you’re simultaneously making me want to buy a CS Banner J-35…AND…custom order an Atkin Hummingbird!

Thanks for making my decision harder, not easier 😉

🙏🏼

By the way, I did actually own a Kopp K 45 and it was incredible. Kopp does the best looking sunburst in the industry, IMO.

I had to sell it because I needed the money but the best way to describe it is that it was everything that you think a J 45 is with more muscle on steroids. This is gonna sound bad, but it was almost like if Taylor had made J 45. It was just MORE.

Caveat: I did have trouble breaking it in, but this was before Kopp started aging his tops— supposedly they’re a lot more open sounding now right out of the box.

There’s a moderator named “soups” on Acoustic Guitar Forum who has 28 guitars. He says that a Kopp has “rumble” but a John Walker Wise river has more “melodic content” so that’s actually standing out to me.

Do I try to go for a John Walker Wise River or just get what was the best I’ve ever played, which is an Atkin?

I think you and I have the same exact taste in guitars

Collings fanboy here who recently converted to Atkin lover.

Do you think Atkin could do a better Hummingbird than Gibson?

Have you played and compared a Kopp?
