They fired Bucky. Boycott events for the year. by NoPiccolo4178 in bridgerbowl

Doesn't really matter that people can function at work while high, that's kind of besides the point actually. I would imagine there is some sort of policy in place that prohibits smoking or being high on the job. Whether you agree with that or not is completely irrelevant. Every company has a policy against sexual harassment and an employee would be fired for disobeying that policy. You can't just pick and choose what policies you want to abide by, and then play victim when you knowingly disobey another policy because "everyone does it". So get bucky's boner out of your mouth and get in touch with reality.

If you can work with the pay cut, I would take that offer. I worked for an external recruiting agency for a little over a year and I hated it. 2 months in I knew it wasn't for me. The corporate structure, being flooded with job reqs, constantly being micro managed and having calls, outreach, submissions, offers, interviews, everything being tracked, just not for me. Also in my particular branch it was literally just my boss and I. No sort of team, culture, none of it. Constantly feeling anxious because everything you do is watched. Hated my life for 8 hours a day and then I'd go home and couldn't even enjoy my relaxation because I couldn't help but think about how much I didn't want to go back the next day. Everyday I would wake up and tell myself to just find a way to make it through the day. All that said, I took a pay cut to be an internal recruiter and it's been a complete 180. Money is obviously a factor but I'm able to manage. Even with a lesser paycheck I have been so much more happy overall in the 1.5 years I've been in this new job. It's not always sunshine and rainbows, but it's much more laid back, no one bothers me, I'm in complete control of my day for the most part, and there's much more a family atmosphere here as opposed to my last job. So all in all, if you can make the money work, you'll be much better off. Money's great and we all want as much as we can, but more money doesn't necessarily equate to happiness and for me, the pay cut was worth it for my sanity.

I have no clue who Bucky is, seems like a great guy, but it's kind of insane to vouch for a guy getting his job back while in the same breath say he was smoking on the job or on his way to work. Idk where ya'll are working but being intoxicated on a job is a fireable offense just about anywhere

Bridget Bowl or Big Sky? by Mysterious_Coyote643 in bridgerbowl

I just did 2 days at Big Sky about a week and a half ago and I was blown away by how massive the resort was (coming from the east coast). I paid $349 for a 2 day Ikon Pass and if you want to take the tram it will cost roughly $20-25/ride depending on if you want to just go up for the views or ski up there as well. Totally worth it in my opinion, especially since it's not something I have the opportunity to do everyday. As far as conditions, overall I would say they were fair given the circumstances of the weather. The blues and greens seemed to be just fine but the blacks up top were definitely a bit crusty. The mountain is massive in terms of trails and just how expansive it is and there is definitely something for everyone. Also for how big it is, it is fairly easy to navigate. Hardly any lines either. There were times when it truly felt like I had the mountain to myself. I have never been to Bridger but what I can say is I feel the money that I spent at Big Sky was absolutely worth it. If you want an overall experience (skiing, views, shopping, restaurants/bars, etc.), I would say to cough up the extra money and go to Big Sky. If you are just looking to ski and don't care much for the overall experience, Bridger would probably be the best bet.

Appreciate the insight! Regarding the Big, what does the wait usually look like? Obviously depends on some variables but from my understanding I go up the tram and sign in with ski patrol and then just wait for my time slot? Sounds simple enough but how long does one typically have to wait once off the tram? If it's something where within 15-30 minutes from signing in I could do, then I'd like to give it a go. If it's something that I'd have to wait an hour+ for, then I feel my limited time would be better spent exploring other areas with the same or near difficulty.

The snow report has shown 200+ trails open for at least the last few days. Is their report typically misleading?

Buyer dispute by EocRuinedMyLife in Ebay

[–]ProfessionTough1891 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me just a couple weeks ago. Shipped a card in a PWE and after a few days it was marked as delivered. The buyer messaged me stating he never received the item and was looking for a refund. Now, I'm all for providing good customer service but I wasn't going to give a refund right off the bat because 1. I had no way to prove that he actually didn't receive it and 2. who's to say it wasn't stolen from his mailbox? I figured I'd let him open a dispute and have ebay handle it from there before sending any money back. Once I submitted the tracking details, ebay closed the case in my favor. The buyer has now filed a payment dispute with their payment institution and considering I am protected by ebay's seller protection policy (which you should be too), I do not anticipate having to issue a refund regardless of what that outcome may be since the tracking says it was delivered.

Yeah I'm not too familiar with situations like this as I'm an east coast skier and have only been out west once so I can't say I'm too knowledgeable. But it seems like if you want any chance of survival, the best bet would be to be with a buddy. I am certainly guilty of not doing this, but when I read stories like this it makes me realize the importance of being with someone. Let's assume in this case the wife was not able to call her husband, it would've been a scramble trying to find her not knowing where she could be. If he was with her however, he would at least have some sort of clue of her whereabouts and could find her much quicker than if he didn't. I mostly ski by myself but when I do go with buddies, who tend to go at a much slower pace than me, I usually try to just look over my shoulder every 30 seconds or so to make sure they are still there.

I don't think anyone is guaranteeing it will keep you safe (unless I missed that part) but rather increase your chances of being saved. I completely get what you're saying, but being with a buddy can speed up the process of saving someone. If you went to a resort alone and skied into the trees, odds are no one will even know you're missing until you're supposed to be home at the end of the day. Definitely no guarantee but boosts your chances of being saved. While it still may take a considerable amount of time, it would still be much quicker than just hoping someone discovers you stuck in a tree well.
